How will trading in Dirty Bomb work?

(intenseRuby) #1

Calling @MissMurder to hopefully be able to shed some light on trading in DB. How will it work, and when will it be implemented? Will it utilize the Steam inventory?

IReally hoping trading is put in quickly, because I think it will calm down a lot of the people who are complaining about “OP loadouts” (whether they exist or not) as well as give some relief to people sitting on high tier cards that they know they’ll never use.

(Zenity) #2

Why do you think there will be trading? Did they say so?

(intenseRuby) #3

I don’t think it’s been announced yet. I kinda jumped the gun and made an assumption. It would be a huge blow to the longevity of Dirty Bomb if there wasn’t any opportunity for players to exchange items. I imagine in the future it would be depressing for long time players to amass 100 pages of loadouts and not be able to exchange them with other players.

They said in the stream that trading wont be in the game.

(Rhyno) #5

I don’t believe that.

I don’t believe that.

Fingers crossed, lol.

You can’t really have trading and massive bonus payouts for new players, because that would be too easily abused. Dirty Bomb has massive bonus payouts for new players, so draw your own conclusions…

Trading is awesome, but I’m okay without it as well. Hearthstone is doing fine without trading, and right now I think that a “dust” system as in Hearthstone would be the perfect solution to all problems. I.e. deconstruct your loadouts for points, then use those points to buy loadouts you want directly.

This would give competitive players a chance to get any loadout they need (even if it’s really expensive to get there) and longtime players will have an alternative to trade ups for their “junk”.

its like hearthstone, I wish i could trade my golden rag for 3 legendaries but alas i cannot

(RuleofBooKz) #9

what trading? only trading there is, and like to be, is up trading 3 to 1 (which isnt that bad really)

(smartIsland) #10

It goes 4:1 for silver, prob 5:1 for gold…

(Zenity) #11

It’s also 4:1 for gold, but it costs 4000 credits. The rates are pretty decent, but I’d still prefer being able to turn loadouts to dust to spend on specific cards, even at much lower rates.

Grinding for ages then getting pumped by RNG sucks donkey balls imo.
If you stack a card with a certain ability or weapon I notice that the ability or weapon usual gets transferred to the new card, is that right , I have seen a guide or wiki on this so just goin by my own experience.

(TheNinth) #13

That’s pretty interesting, should be investigated.

(RuleofBooKz) #14

ohhh hadnt noticed but at bronze u have all 3 abilities unlocked and filled on the card so after that im pretty sure silver and gold is just cosmetic - unless they have reserved some weapons / abilities / combo’s only for silver and gold

(Zenity) #15

So far it looks to me like silver and gold are all unique. I do wish it would work like you suspect though. Bronze as the high-end tier, silver and gold for cosmetic variations.

True, but MissMurder also said they’re looking at revising the way credits are awarded. If they took out the massive level up credit bonus, increased the rewards from missions and finishing games, and maybe gave players a free merc of their choice at level 5 or so, things could work out.
