I havent seen any footage where a person tried to knife twice in a row, so i cant really say. The first swipe is pretty quick, and there isnt much of a delay to start shooting, but they may have put a short delay between swipes to stop people from mashing the button when the get close to people.
how uch damage l will the bayonet have ?
Actually, it would make more sense to me if a knife or bayonet slash downed an enemy, whereas a rifle butt should only stun and push him back a few paces, making him prone to a free burst of fire. But well, I’m not the game designer here.
Yeh its an interesting one because it seems that the knife was ment to act as a better melee weapon for those who choose a pistol but as it doesn’t knock the enemy down and doesn’t kill an enemy in one it could work out to be a worse choice for melee… I guess we will find out next week!
Brink doesnt often have “better” unless things are really intended to be better, such as medium weapons being better than light weapons.
The knife melee is a trade off, just as a weapon attachment is a trade-off. If the knife melee you are giving away a tactical advantage for increased damage. You can probably kill people faster with the knife melee plus shooting, but it’s higher risk.
Ideally, neither is better, just different.
Ah yes I momentarily forgot about brink’s philosphy on everyone should be on an even playing field. Well once ingame I guess I will decide whether I prefer knocking folk down or slicing them
Why choose? Any time you have a pistol as backup, you can switch for the slice, but use your main for rifle butting.
Ah ok for some reason I was under the illusion that if you used the pistol as a primary(if thats even possible) that you got the knife as a sort of backup…silly me.
Maybe they even let you hold your knife Solid Snake style, half-hidden in the pistol grip
.
Ahem
Boff… Run over, Finish up… Schplat!

CUT CUT CUT DEAD
Knife works out faster because it doesn’t put distance between you and your target for the followup.

Lights are gonna need that speed advantage so they don’t get wasted close up with they rush in. That’s a nice balanced gameplay aspect.
