How to use Weapon kit?

Im stuck here. I open the kit, select the merc and then just normal random loadouts for credits and fragments.
No option to select weapon.

you need more, see the numbers under the weapon? you need that many more kits

ohh it works for silver+ loadouts only, but I still need 2 kits to craft lel so … ill skip this level reward.
