How to remove tree Planter?

(zivs) #1

Just by accident made in my RtCW:WildWest map few trees and now don’t know how to remove them - there shows no trees in Radiant, but after a compile they are still there. And yep, in map shows up that wireframe thingie from tree planting or whatever was that… :banghead:
Could someone please tell me how to remove it? Googled, searched in this forum, but didn’t find anything about this :frowning:

(Shaderman) #2

Are you filtering models? What happens if you press SHIFT + M?

(zivs) #3

After Shift+m this wireframe dissapeared. Now will compile check if trees really aren’t there ^^

(zivs) #4

Well they are gone for 50% - they are still there, but now I can walk through them…
Here are how it looks in Radiant (shows up nothing - no textures, tree planters or anything else)

And here is how it looks in game

Map is compiled with following options:
(test) BSP -meta, -vis, -light -fast -filter

Anything in mind what to do to remove these tree “ghosts”?

(SCDS_reyalP) #5

press L to bring up the list of entities, and look at the misc_model and misc_gamemodel entities

(zivs) #6

There shows up tree_c.md3 and tree_c.ASE - how to delete them since from that “Entities” i don’t see any option :o
Well i got rid of this md3 model, but still can’t get rid of ASE files from that tree o_O

(Flippy) #7

press “L”, then look for the tree (misc_(game)model) and press the “Select” button. Then close the “L” window (dunno what it’s called… entity list?) and then press backspace to delete it.

Aha! Thanks
First days with Radiant… that makes me crazy … ^^

(stealth6) #10

did you add teh textures in the pk3?

(whoosaaa) #11

tryed it, didnt work…

just for info…all trees and stones are entered with misc gamemodel…not treeplanter.

(stealth6) #12

I always use misc_model for trees and stones, because I had problems with gamemodels, but you said that you first tested it locally and it worked fine, only on your server it doesn’t so I dont know why not…

(whoosaaa) #13

yeah thats the funny part… tested it. mmmmm.

ah what the hack, another recompile then , gonna try it your way stealth.

ill let ya know what happend.

(whoosaaa) #14

allrighty…thx stealth.

It worked, changed all game models in misc_models and now they show up.

(stealth6) #15

I remeber the error I got now, it kept saying musc_gamemodel had no node oO
I was like wtf is a node… got all into a panic then changed them to misc_models problem solved lol

(whoosaaa) #16

well got no error but ya were running into invisible obj…:D:D
those were the clip textures witch were there…kind of silly.

But thx for your advise.

I’m pretty sure why you had that problem. If the origin of the model touches a structural brush and it is a:

-misc_model, it causes a leak message in radiant which can be ignored.

-misc_gamemodel, it dissapears in game. Solution would be to move the model so the origin doesn’t touch it, or make the brush detail.

Oh yeah and you should have made them misc_model anyway. But incase you will have same problem next time, you know it. Btw nice bumb!

(whoosaaa) #18

hehe thx sage…

but 1 more question… Nice Bumb??
Maybe im to old or just a Noob…
