How to play fragger?

(Juan) #1

After reading the forums for a while lots of people seemed to say that fragger was a good merc for new players. So I bought the 1 dollar humble bundle pack and it included fragger. Even after playing a while I can’t seem to get the hang of him even though I am doing things like cooking my nades. Is there anything I’m doing wrong?
Edit: I have both the K51 and the M62 in bronze, which one should I use?

The m4 is a lot easier, you want to rely on nade if your new and try to learn to throw it properly, you should get a kill each nade if you do it right.

Practice, If you keep practicing with fragger you will develop a playstyle for him. Fragger is very versatile, he can be attack and defence it all depends on how you use fragger. I would suggest that you should rely on your aim on a 1 on 1 battle however if there are more, sometimes it is great to pull out the nade and take both or more out, 2 for 1 is a great trade especially on maps like trainyard (2nd stage) where you need to push together to take control if you are playing against players similar skill level to you, taking down 2 players can stop a full assault on the 2nd objective. In all honesty just practice

Hold down Q when you see a few people, and aim for the face with your gun when there’s only one.

Don’t spam his frag, use it when you see that aura hugging a healing station , it’s super effective in certain areas (ungerground first objective, bridge last objective ,terminal first objective when people camp next to the c4 …) cooking his frag is extremely important too. Practice with his weapons , the k-121 has high recoil but is super powerful on close range. The m4 is overal very balanced. The BR-16 is overpowerd once you master it. Practice , practice , practice… In dirty bomb is it super important to put a lot of time in mercs to master them. I played him now 40hrs and I’m still improving. Just keep playing and you will wreck with him

Practice cooking, it takes some time getting adjusted to the distance, you will be surprised how far you can still throw it when you hold it for about 2 seconds.

Fragger has no effective cool-down for his nade so just learn the cook timer and blast as many as you can, then run around with your team for 15 seconds, and throw another nade. Once you get the hang of the cook timer and the throw arc, you’ll never miss a nade and your K/D will be through the roof every match.

Become 3 star chef. Learn the rare, medium, and well done throw situations. Initiate with nade, cleanup with K-121. Walljump and long jump to increase throw distances for MLG Kobes. Get ammo first, the K-121 has a stupidly small reserve capacity.
