I really liked the snipe from ET where you would have really high possible RoF but with insane recoil requiring manual pulldown which was necessary to compensate. So if you tried to spam you would naturally lose a lot of accuracy.
These days people would probably macro it though…
That’s why you give slight RNG to the recoil pattern - that way the player still has to, at least, drag the scope back to the left or right (and that kind of recoil is in game right now for the PDP).
Oh yes, good idea. And let’s also buff the Stark while we’re at it, because it’s JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH at long range right now. Let’s make the Sniper rifles only good if you’re 100% accurate but you HAVE to be in close range, but let’s keep the Stark, an ASSAULT RIFLE, able to outrange it.
Seriously mate, the snipers are intended for long range. I didn’t think this needed explaining.
My personal suggestions were a reduction to ammo count per mag and also make sure your model gets outlined while in smoke to giveaway your position. So you can choose to sit in smoke and fire but you’ll be a lot easier to fire back at. The PDP on Vas and Aimee is a lot less of an issue than the PDP on Redeye sitting in smoke. Cut down the ammo count and make it obvious where he is sitting in smoke and suddenly the weapon gets a whole lot more balanced on the one character that makes it a beast.
You mean being able to roughly see people inside the smoke from afar? I don’t know, on one hand it deals with the issue of Redeye sniping you while being concealed, but I feel like seeing shapes inside the smoke might reduce its other utilities. How about making his red eye super luminescent even through the smoke when he activates IR goggles?
Sorry, I didn’t actually clarify that portion of it haha. My bad. My idea was to give him a brief outline or a much bigger/more noticeable muzzle flash (from opposing player view on) so that you know where he is firing from if he sits there and rattles off shots. But the smoke still works like normal if you aren’t firing from inside of it.
This allows the PDP and possibly the GR to be nerfed while sitting in smoke without actually touching the power of the guns. It would only nerf Redeye using it and no other merc using them.
I’m all up for breaking the Redeye meta right now, but I mostly just want to see the PDP brought down before anything drastic happens - simple because it’s the least fun aspect of him to fight against. Hell, if they removed the PDP, gave the Grandeur an RDS, and called it a day I’d be content.

Sounds good. Anything to stop the annoying sniping from the smoke.
Grandeur is just as bad, the stats are very similar to the PDP it’s just the sucky sights holding it back. If it gets a dot sight it will definitely rival PDP Redeye - I’d like it to have good sights but definitely do something about being sniped while not knowing where it’s coming from. Muzzle flash, shiny red eye or anything to fight back.

The Grandeur needs a sight. The recoil and massive bloom are nerfs enough. The Grandeur also is the only sniper with falloff, I believe.
I like how your comment tries to bring the thread back to pdp, but then just spews out non sense at the end.
hip fire is not key, with the grandeur you have to ADS a lot more than other regular guns to actually make the bullets go straight.
watch hexa flexa for example.
