How to have beautiful graphics and not Lagging?

(K3tamina.) #1

Hi, is there a way to have a nice graphics and not Lagging?
I already tried the THREAD SYNC.
What are the effects “unnecessary” to disable?

I noticed that with the latest patch the fps are somewhat lowered.

In Game do 100 fps but sometimes I down by up to 50fps

My computer:
I5 760
12GB DDR3 RAM
ASUS GTX 960 2GB

Notebook?

No, It is a desktop computer.

Honestly I have a similar problem and I think it has a lot to do with optimization of resources and assets.

I would say you should try turning down a few things, like bloom and god rays.

Weird. But I would yeah. The game is not so well optimized.
I mean, my PC is not the best, and I have had no problems running it on high (with some unnecessary things off like blurring and so on)
AMD FX-4130
16 Gigs of RAM
Geforce GTX 750
Are your drivers and everything up to date?

Well, you have almost the same rig as I do (I5 750 and 8Go RAM for me, same gpu).
I have more or less the same performance discrepancies you have.
You can do little about this except removing everything in-game and check that oneframethread is clearly enabled in the ini.

The main problem is that your rig, so does mine, is now clearly limited by your cpu performance, as UE3 eats more on this side.

Some extra tweaks that might help :

  • bsmoothframerate = true will lower your maximal framerate during low load situations, but will also raise it slightly during high load ones. That’s a matter of preference, I personally prefer to keep it disabled (available twice in the ini).
  • play on small servers. I have significant performance differences between playing on a 6vs6 and 8vs8. Ragdolls, client sending/receiving more information tend to generate higher cpu work.
  • I can’t play right now with the new UI interface (I’m not at home), but removing the minimap used to remove some micro stutters and improve the framerate slightly.
  • ! Crash warning alert ! There’s some texturegroup parameters you can fiddle with which will reduce the cpu load by increasing it in the gpu ram. You can gain almost 30-40 if you don’t crash. Look on reddit, there’s some threads about it. But take care and save your .ini before trying something in there. You’ll be warned very fast if your computer doesn’t like it.
