Well he is even weaker now~!
How to fix Phantom for good, without a massive rework.
Well that’s tge point of him like they said in the wiki(?) that he suits the lone wolf type of guy which means the meaning for him is just to kill people.
It would take even longer to find matches then, even though it’s better now than before.
Stay on topic, you two. (jim and split) … While SD wanted Phantom to be a lone wolf, by lowering the effectiveness of his cloak, boosting the noise, extending his cool down, nerfing his katana damage, and not giving him any other benefits, Phantom has gone from a 1v1 master to… kind of a crummy version of Bushwacker.
Phantom seemed to be meant for 1v1 kills with the katana: similar to a close-range sniper. Snipers have no downside for when they kill someone via headshot at long range. Why did people complain when a person knifes them at point blank? - If there’s even a single teammate around, they should be able to avenge your death. - If the Phantom user had been using a sniper, then there’d be zero counter play or chance to retaliate.
I’m confused at the hate phantom got on release. - Sword (regardless of one hit kill potential) is nothing compared to snipers.
IMO Phantom does need a team orientated ability. He is a recon, and he should contribute something towards the team. I really like the concept of having a decoy, but i feel like it would be a bit too obvious to know who the real one is.
Phantom should have and AOE speed boost ability, granting himself and his allies some extra movement speed so they can get out of sticky scenarios. It would also make him viable in flanking, giving him his ‘lone wolf’ characteristics. Besides this, he may not need any stat changes if something along this concept is implemented.
