How to explain DO NOT return objective?

(chicHouse) #1

ohh someone from enemy team took wrong direction with objective I killed him near our spawn. So I was covering obj and some low level useless vasili from my team returned it.

I was shooting at this vasili, typing into chat “DONT RETURN”…

he returned objective anyway.

We could save some time, defend it easy. Hence no, some players have “preprogrammed” - > game tells me to return, so return

ohh im little angry… another lost match.

(avidCow) #2

Just comes from experience really.

(torsoreaper) #3

If it makes you feel any better, having a vasili on your team means you were probably going to lose either way. =P

I kid, I kid!

(Dawnlazy) #4

Return it at a certain time after they spawn so that just when they arrive it resets back into their spawn area for the best results. I usually go with 18-19 seconds.

(Mister__Wiggles) #5

Return it half way through their spawn so they have pushed up and will have to waste time going back to get it. It’s common sense really. As for returning it for the sake of it, we’ll you get points for doing that maybe SD should also give point for letting it reset, maybe a big defence reward. At the end if the day though, there will always be new players and they can be forgiven for being useless, my advice would be stick to min lvl 10 if you can, the skill level is about 10 times higher in there plus open pubs are to easy recently.

Not returning the objective can be a useful strategy, but I’ve the opposite problem where players get mad at me for returning it when it is literally on the turn-in. If left there, the enemy is one good air-strike away from clearing the space they need to turn in.

A win don’t give shit. Returning gives 250 EXP. Nothing or 250 EXP more?

(Glot) #9

there probably should be an “OBJ Defence XP” bonus for covering the carry object until it respawns. and make it bigger than 250XP
in other words this is a Battlesense XP bonus. you are in the right time in the right place.

(Izzy) #10

The same way you explain ‘Do not fully repair the EV while the barriers are not blown up’. Only comes in lvl10+ servers, sometimes, when experience and brain usage can be found in every member of the team.

(HunterAssassin5) #11

i think win gives like 200 xp, add that to all the people throwing their respawns at you trying to get the obj back. and nothing stopping you from returning it when its about to reset.

(Feley) #12

I know, what you mean, but all you need is and experienced fragger, that will throw nade on place where objective is… kill everyone… pick objective… and deliver before you can spawn.

I know there are times there is no need to return, but I would never approve of letting objective waiting there by the delivering spot for someone to pick it up (also spawn is very near deliver spot)

Of course there is great chance you will defend objective perfectly and gain some time by not returning it… but still it is a small risk you must take.

Happend to me that I was actually holding on the objective and then the enemy came and delivered it xD … lessons learned ? dunno…depends on how good your team’s awareness is.

(HoopleDoople) #15

But this is one of the best places to farm that sweet, sweet game mode experience for those stupid missions. In anything but competitive I guarantee someone is always going to repair the EV, even if they know it won’t help the team.

Well, in pubs sure, who cares. In comp, no way, PTFO.

(Drac0rion) #17

You can explain what you want, but free xp towards my game mode xp mission, why would I ever want to pass that?

(Resine) #18

I always repair to the full hp even if the barriers are closed, same goes about returning the item. Why? For the sake of points obviously. People are often complaining and whining about this, but I think they are simply mistaken as I haven’t join the pugs to win the round but to get my missions done and as many kills than I can.

(kopyright) #19

And two and a half seconds later somebody’s gonna open a thread on the DB forum and complain about people not returning the objective. >:)

(Demolama) #20

Ha… I was right when I posted that game mode xp does not promote teamplay but merely selfishness
