How to explain dirty bomb game to a friend in few words?

#1

For DB I would say:
TF2 with a hint of CS:GO, and a hint of ET.

For ETQW:
TF2, with lots of BF, with a hint of ET and a hint of Quake.

The point is to pin-point what basic category DB falls into.
For marketing, or even gamedesign puposes. SD must know what game they are making right? Yea of course.
But do SD want to say it?
Im not sure if SD wants to say they like TF better than RTCW or W:ET. But looks like it to me, when looking at past games (ETQW) and the feedback they had back then.

I just opened a bag of drama. Sorry.
But the core question still stand, even if disregarding my second topic.

“teambased shooter” can mean anything, except free for all.

I’d say ET meets CoD.

The game which had a lot of potential :frowning:

TF2 meets Brink

I can’t say it has a hint of ET, because it really doesn’t feel like it AT ALL, even if on the face of it many of the same mechanics are there. It’s much more Brink than it is anything else SD have done, and although that might be construed as “bad” by many around here I don’t see it as such. Brink would’ve been a good game with more maps, less bugs, and a proper PC centric (rather than console centric) interface / control system (i.e. SMART without the SMART button). DB still has Brink’s “press this one button to do these multiple things”, which to me is a console cop out.

TF2 meets Brink is accurate.

How would you describe Brink then?
TF2 meets ?

Why TF2 ? TF2 did not invent the class system (already present in ET).

I generally say “Splash Damage’s style. Better than Brink, less good than ET/ETQW”.

FPS meets MOBA

I’ve described it as an arcade style team shooter meets MOBA. Hoping the MOBA part begins to become a more intrinsic part of the game. Almost everyone I’ve talked to likes the idea.
