you need to apply the water texture to only the top side of the water brush. the other sides should be textured with siwa_waternodraw or something similar. well thats how i do it

you need to texture the bottom of the water brush with the water texture, too

No you don’t, only the top.
Or, more accurately, only the sides you want to see - the rest get the nodraw version.
