The first shot was created with either 3 point clipping or brush shearing. If you are not familiar with brush shearing using the 3D window then follow this tutorial. Its not simply about rockwork …
http://www.planetquake.com/simland/pages/articles/rockwall1_1.htm
The second shot is a mapmodel called a cagelight. Its under the mapmodel/lights directory.

Did you actually try the tutorial? I know english is not your native language but the tutorial is written in a very plain english to help with transalation. What exactly did you not understand? There is plenty of pictures to follow if you are stuck with understanding the english.

Thx for the tutorial and 4 help me
You are seeing the cagelight model highlighted…press esc and you’ll see more what the model looks like in game. Also, use the angles key to rotate the model (if you want it sticking sideways out of the wall)
I think it’s problem of my graphic card, i have got a ATI Radeon 9000 PRO 64 MB with latest catalyst drivers, does anyone have this card too? or this problem? if this is problem of my card i must report it to radiant or to ati? :S
I see this bug in maps like goldrush and ammodepot and it makes radiant more slow so i can’t edit these maps or do anything with them.
There are several ways to get your brushes inclined and modified.
Select a brush and press “E” to be able to modify the sides of the brush.
Select a brush and press “V” to modify the vertexes.
Select a brush and ctrl + right-click on one side of the brush, then ctrl + right-click on another side to split the brush. Think of it like splitting clay with a wire. Press ENTER to clip the brush, or press shift + enter to change which part you’re getting rid of.
tbh sock it took me a couple reads to understand your tutorial fully through. But that’s because I read it early off… the tutorial is more for intermediates who know how to create a basic map… not people who are just starting.

True, if you cannot create a basic map, do any 2 point clipping or dragging of brushes then it will be a nightmare. I was pointing out the brushing shearing. It will probably better in a seperate tutorial then.

Lol great
but what’s about my problem? the bug
Radiant have got a button in preferences, it says : ATI Broken Drivers # bug #, if i desactive it i see the same what in but i have it checked, so it’s other bug? i want report it to GTK Radiant but www.qeradiant.com dont works
Turn off cubic clipping. It’s the only button you have selected in the bottom toolbar (other than the two at the right end). See if that helps.
I think digital has the same question as I, in the top pic, how can you get the texture to mold with the brush’s shape?

press ‘s’ to bring up the surface inspector. now press the little arrows to move the texture either horizontal or vertical until it lines up (make sure you have the side of the brush selected that you wanna fiddle with). or you can just press the fit button. there’s loads of ways to change how the texture fits on the brush and most of them are doabel through the surface inspector. if your using a patch/curve then press shift+s to get the pacth surface inspector.
(them textures dont look properly aligned to me in the top picture :moo: )

Dont deselect the button then ?
BTw i got a ATI Radeon 9800 se (softmnod to 9800pro) and i aint got no ati bug, i suggest checking that box in prefrences! then see what happens
Change the angle of the texture in the surface inspector until it fits the angle of your brush.
With the brush editor you can rotate the texture, expand the texture, or move the texture vertically/horizontally.
