You hold a nade, dont want to use it, By accident u press. u can then put the nade back.
Yeah everybody knows you re-squeeze the lever and put the pin back in. Just ask… nevermind.
Yes, it changes ur weapon, release fire before it changes and it will not waste a shot.
not if you have the ability that lets you run with nades lol :stroggtapir:
It is annoying as hell that it’s hard to cancel a nade throw. I’ve just been firing, which wastes ammo obviously.
No other modern FPS does this ****. It’s like, wtf were you thinking SD!?
People don’t use the running nade ability? At least tell me you use the running reload.

Yeah, in most games when you start the fuse on a timed grenade you can either time it so it explodes where you want it to after throwing or hold onto it until it explodes (in Brink’s case you auto-throw it before then). Really, it shouldn’t detonate while you’re holding it but when you die you’d release the lever and boom but I suppose most devs don’t want people to run around suicide bombing.
Edit: Forgot the important bit - performing a melee attack cancels a grenade throw (I know it works for flashbangs and frags even if they’re close to detonating so it should work for others).
This would be usefull for lazarus grenades for example im about to trow it, and my team mates all respawed in that instant so i use 1 lazz gren for nothing that happens often.

Why shouldn’t it go off when you hold it? When you hold grenade key, you haven’t just pulled the pin, you’ve also released the safety lever, otherwise you couldn’t cook it. At that point the fuse is burning, and it should detonate no matter what you do.
Don’t most modern grenades use an electronic fuse which can be cancelled nowadays?
Depending on grenade design ofc: As long as the lever has not been completely released it can be assumed that the grenade is “hot” but not ready for explosion allowing you to cook it but also cancel before throwing. As soon as the lever is released though you’d end any chance to cancel the grenade (since it has been deployed and you don’t want the enemy to grab it and cancel).
This is 90% guesswork on my part. I haven’t done any research into actual grenades but since we’re talking a scifi future on a floating city I’m guessing a little speculation is allowed
EDIT:
Nope. After doing a little reading you are completely correct. Most grenades are cooked by releasing the lever which starts a chemical fuse. There are some grenades going into production with a digital timer which can be set (although I don’t see this being really effective in the heat of battle).
Pfft. My idea is far safer and more flexible. I should become a weapons designer

Additional information:
Fuses (IRL) can be a bit dodgy with their timing and so the military frowns on “cooking” because you’re endangering your life and the lives around you by doing so.
The original fuses were apparently very dodgy and so you didn’t dare risk cooking. Nowadays the chemical fuses are a lot better but it’s still a very risky manuever.
