How to apply 2 textures to a brush?

(oS!Digital) #1

Hi, i’m now in my map  (my room :P) and i want to do a ladder, i make a brush, i apply Ladder texture and i can climb  but if i apply other texture i can’t climb, and if i dont apply it i see ladder texture (transparent) how can i apply 2 textures?

And, i’m testing the sky, i made a cube, my room is into the cube, i apply sky texture to the cube and i test it but i see normal texture in the game, soz for my english… i will say it better with a screenshot

K thx, other questions, how to adjust a texture to a brush?

And when i try to test my room ET Says: SV_SetBrushModel : Null

you can’t add 2 textures to 1 brush (unless you make your own shader)

To do what you want, create a second brush in front of your first brush that you wish to be climbable, and add a “ladder” shader to it.
Make the brush a few units think, and it can overlap your original brush. you will find the ladder shader in the “common” shaders.

or

If you are feeling confident, you can make your own shader, with the texture you want, and a “surfaceparm ladder”

I recommend you use the first method if you are new to mapping / creating your own shaders

I’m not sure what “SV_SetBrushModel : Null” is telling you, I have never had this error myself, perhaps a search of the forums will find your answer ?

I’ve had a SV_SetBrushModel: Null error. Got it when playing with func_constructibles and script_movers. Maybe you accidently pressed on of those buttons?

I’m assuming you meant 2 textures to 1 face

Doh!.. yes indeed

and thats is what I presumed he was trying to-do

just a hint, something you’ll learn along the way, build in caulk

:stuck_out_tongue:

The SV_SetBrushModel: Null error comes when you have a origin brush that isn’t linked to anything.

About the sky issue: The sky-texture has to be a shader (a shader has a white line around it in the textures selector)
