How the New Forum Works?

I will say I like this new forum a lot and I’m getting used to the changes. I did want to ask about how some of this works though as I can’t find some things.

  1. Will our old rep be transferred over or are we all restarting from the beginning? My new profile has me as a basic user with very little “rep” whereas on the old forums I had over 1k rep points, multiple badges, a signature, etc. Is there a plan to transfer this over or do I have to start from the beginning again?

  2. There are some peeps with titles under their names. Are they the new “sigs”? How do you get one? Are they customizable?

  3. I can no longer make polls or simply can’t find the functionality to do so. Is this something based upon rep?

  4. On my profile summary page it says there are badges available but I haven’t earned any yet, nor are they shown. Is it a “surprise” or “mystery trophy” system? How does that work?

Overall I like the change I think. It’s definitely a smoother UI even if everything is overly minimal and a little confusing to navigate at the beginning.

Can’t see anywhere regular users can set this at the moment, people that have them already are most likely from the SD forum import. Mods have the ability to set them, but it would be nice to expose these to everyone in my opinion.

When creating a thread click the options button (little cog) in the editor button bar, then click “build poll”, haven’t tried it myself, but I guess the rest is self explanatory.

The old reputation system has no comparable system in our new software, and so didn’t have a migration path. This means that reputation hasn’t (and will not be) transferred.

Some peoples’ titles were automatically migrated over from the legacy Splash Damage forums. If you don’t have a title, then it is because you didn’t have an account there.

We’ve got a few badges to start off with, which you can see here. We’ll be adding more as time goes on.

Thanks Maisy appreciate the swift response! One final question… How do I raise my trust level? Just by doing the forum things or do I have to do something special?
