How The Heck Do You Play Phantom?

(AirborneAsian) #1

I bought Phantom a while ago, but the thing is that i suck at him. I always go on the bottom of the leader board and always get killed while i’m using Phantom’s invis ability! I totally don’t know how to use him, and I kinda regret buying him. The reason I think this is happening is that I just got too over-excited about using his sword, and just trying to stab people without doing objectives and such. So, any tips?

I could of just bought Sawbones because I got a gold card on him on a normal case within my 20 hours of playing.

  • Sneak around the opposing team instead of running at them head on.
  • Target the weaker hp players 1st (proxy, sparks, aura (vasilli if you have chopper)).
  • If you dont kill an enemy in one hit with your Katana use your mouse-wheel up or down and quickly finish them off (with the exception of rhino).
  • Control objectives by standing still whilst using your cloak which will make you invisible and strike hard and fast.
  • If you are in a group of enemies move around whilst lunging with your Katana as you can get multiple kills for one strike.
  • Whilst running pull your pistol out because it seems faster than having the Katana out.
  • If you are forced to run and your cloak is off CD duck around corners and use it while you have a spare second then strike or keep on running to absorb more hits.

This needs a test.

Flank and assist offensive pushes or weaking the enemy pushes for your teams defense.

Sneak and kill problematic Vassilis to allow your team to push forward.

Flank and harass the side objectives.

Kill Medics

Perform objectives if possible

Guard C4

Guard your disarmers. I often turn on refractive armor and meat shield the people disarming if they’re under fire

Revive people when you can.

All of these things you should be flanking or taking alternate routes, sometimes you can get away stealthing and sprinting through cross fire, but I typically do that to kill people repairing EVs or planting/disarming C4.

Many more options, but you should be flanking, striking hard and fast. Distracting is very easy as a phantom. People are so terrified, you can lead them off objectives. I had a game tonight where we were defending on chapel, and I was running to the spawn so I could switch over to the side with the bridge generator. A wave spawned as I was passing through, I ended up long jumping and running towards previous objectives and managed to get 4 people chasing me instead of escorting the data cores.
