Being the information whore that I am, I was wondering when the Brink site will be updated again, after going through everything that’s currently on there (which is awesome, by the way).
My hunger can never be satiated.

I don’t think the content is directly managed by SD and more likely somewhere from Bethesda PR.
There’s a ton of information on these forums here, though. Have a look at Rahdo’s posts for example as he answered countless questions. Or you could just click through the Brink section. It’s not that big yet.
I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing slow load times on the brinkthegame.com site? I have a 3.6mbit connection and although not worldclass, I would expect it to allow the movies to at least buffer up at the start and play uninterrupted but unfortunately every movie stutters every couple of seconds.
Also, when updates are made to the brinkthegame.com site, are they always going to be mentioned on here too?
Thanks
brinkthegame.com is horrible. takes ages to load and yet i’m on a 100 Mbit/s connection. so - you’re not the only one with that problem.
for now http://www.splashdamage.com/brink is a way better source for brink news. updates more frequently then the official one. and - if i were biased (which i just might be - doh) i’d say http://brinkish.eu should fulfil your need of brink updates as well.
but let’s hope the official one gets sorted eventually
:stroggbanana:
Really? It stutters for me when I connect from work aswell, and our work social club connection is capable of downloading at 900k/s…
The speed of the site loading deters me from wanting to check it for updates.
He doesn’t have a .9 Mb connection; 900kbs download speeds. a 22.4 Mb connection probably gets around 4-6MB down. Still works fine for me on a 3Mb connection so no clue…
Learn to convert plz
22.4 Mb ~ 3MB (because 8Mb = 1 MB), no 4-6 MB ^^
Lol thanks for that :p. I have never been fortunate to experience good net connections :(.
Well the CGI Trailer for example is in wmv format is 38meg and is approx 3 mins long - so to stream it would have to be 38912/180 = 216 kb/s. But a streaming version would be in lower quality assumedly.
Yeah I’m bored.
Must be slowed down one of the hops to Australia. I did a tracert and there were a few throttles along the way. Yes, once again I was bored lol.
1 Byte = 8 bits
MBs = Mega Bytes per second
Mbs = Mega bits per second
try this, find out what you have for download
As I said - 900 kilobytes per second. Of actually proven download speed. Hence why I don’t see why the site loads slowly for me.
I get about 400-500kbs and I am still able to load the site fairly quickly. Maybe you need to update something?
Hmm, tried it on several computers at home, several computers at work, and a few friends. All stream and load slowly. It’s ok, I’ll deal with it. I just wanted to find out if anyone else had issues and clearly a lot of people don’t.
Add Reactor and Airport to this map please http://www.brinkthegame.com/ark/island/
you receive around 12% of the speed you pay for when downloading and around 2.5% of the speed you pay for while uploading, my figures are not accurate but they are definitely close. works fine for me at home 20mb but at work its a crappy connection from BT
RAWR
12% = 12/100 which is approximately equal to 1/8. Fascinating. Are you sure that 12% isn’t actually 12.5%? That would be a nicer rounder figure!
