How much would you pay for weapon add ons?

(Azev2000) #21

I would pay NOT ONE CENT for weap packs. I already paid $50 for a half finished game. That at best should have been $15.

(wolfnemesis75) #22

Here’s what I did: Completed all 2 star challenges. Done.

(nephandys) #23

Paying for weapons attachments regardless of whether they are balanced with the other weapons or not is not a good idea IMO. I think inevitably they would offer some advantage (however minor) against a player not willing to spend the money. I already have some minor beef with that Greeneye Scope from the Spec Ops pack. I think all DLC should just be packaged together. Shelling out money for some weapon attachments is about as appealing to me as paying for costumes. It just doesn’t seem like enough bang for my buck and we’d constantly hear the whining of “That guy has attachment XYZ that he paid for. That’s the only reason he can beat me.”

(dabis) #24

I would pay like, $5 tops for a new pack of weapons, since I would like to see a little more variety in available choices.
Paid micro-transactional DLC really has some people hooked deep.

Wouldn’t pay for content like that in a million years. Would be prepared to pay for a substantial (key word) expansion pack but not for tiny additions to the game.
Thats the good part, those who want it can get it and exactly what they want, while those that dont never even have to bother worrying about it… It could put more money in SD’s pockets and satisfy those who would like to add another layer of customization. I would probably buy a few but only if I felt the value was there to me.

And yes we would all love a nice big expansion but I dont think thats somethin that will be comming anytime soon. This could be done without nearly as much effort.

(Oschino1907) #26

I feel you, I have said something before about it cause I know of people who have bought all the pre order packs giving them overall MORE WEAPON CHOICES IN GAME, but when I got a response from an SD rep they just said “It doesnt mater cause the stats are the same as other guns” LOL tell me thats not a JOKE! LOL so 4 of questionably the BEST weapons in their classes and now you have two versions of each to customize, yeah its fair when lights have 33% more guns then other lights and 40% more pistols!

(iezza) #27

Too true, they shouldnt allow dual Carbs and THe greeneye is OP as ****.

I’d much rather they fix the issues before trying to shove micro DLC down our throats.

That said, the process of DLC alone is just one factor that’s ruining this industry. But that’s a whole other debate. And one I know the bean counters will disagree with.

(Wraith_shadow) #29

While it could be said with a little more tact, i fully agree. This game was released with too many overly hyped under utilized features (smart, customization, match options), too many bugs, and a lot less content for what they were charging for. They’ve seriously been dropping the ball on what COULD have been a truely awesome game (i like it but it was all hype and little delivery). A fact that continues even with it’s DLC. Frankly as much as i like this game, there’s been too many problems for me to really wamt to justify paying for DLC. Sadly though i think they should keep the model of Free DLC then charge after two weeks so the fans and hardcore people get it free.

The fans deserve a better game and frankly the company shouldn’t be charging for things to make it up to us.

(Oschino1907) #30

I know some who have gotten all the packs and they all love running with a Ritchie/Caeser for up close and one with a green eye for “sniping”, and just not fair to basically have duals of 4 weapons with diff set ups for each in terms or range, speed or silencing when most only have 1 extra gun and some NONE… Not game breaking but enough to get under your skin, for me atleast.

(SnipingMeerkat) #31

I play single player so a level playing field doesn’t really matter to me but I see where some people are coming from that it could make the game uneven.

(morguen87) #32

I’m kind of confused on the purpose of this thread…why would you sit around thinking of new ways for them to charge you?

I don’t see how something like this would work. If the new weapons were balanced they wouldn’t be different enough from their counterparts to warrant being charged for. On the other hand, if they were unique they probably wouldn’t fit into the balance of the game.

New weapons is a cool idea regardless, just not sure why we’re already talking about paying for them.

(thrill11) #33

How about that AND no charge at all. They owe us. the game we THOUGHT we were getting costs 60$ dollars. The game we actually got was worth $20.

(kilL_888) #34

plz lets not get political. im hearing the times for usd are not so bright either these days.

(Oschino1907) #35

Gonna start trolling me now cause you dont agree with me in another thread? LOL classic, person who calls out others for being trolls suddenly starts trolling those people.

(Singh400) #36

I would pay nothing at all.
What’s that convert to these days, $50 USD?
ahem http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=1&From=EUR&To=USD ahem

(thrill11) #37

Uh oh, unrelated posting in the intent of causing another argument, huh? typical you.

P.s Oschino1907, I’m not criticizing the poster, nor shutting down his idea. In fact I’m actually agreeing with him partially.

(AmishWarMachine) #38

Below my name, you’ll see I’m from the USA… and it was an opportunity to mock our struggling economy.

(MrFoxer) #39

I’d rather no paid weapon dlcs, I would only buy them if they gave me an advantage, then again that makes the game unbalanced.

(Achtung) #40

They dont sit at work for free. All add ons cost money. Try not to be so silly about that.

As far as add ons go. Weapons and weapon add ons are fine but as stated, not to overpower players who dont purchase them.

For add ons, i dont see a problem with the shield, but we’ll have to see about the bayonet, but im sure these will take your front grips place, so…

Maps and lvl caps, plus abilities, are going to have to be up to the consumer. If you dont want them dont get them, but honestly if your still playing Brink why not add to the experience by gettin some new goodies. Most games take me a weekend to beat, a number of MP shooters can get alot more life than most games, other than MMO’s out of DLC, and why not.

Honestly the COD series could have stopped making new games at COD4 and just added DLC to this point, as not alot has changed. Ten to fifteen dollars here and there vs. $50X3 many of us has paid for whole new games with not alot of new content is no different than a game building a base and continuing on from there.
