How much would you pay for a female char DLC?

(Lydia) #141

Considering its under fire and in a fight , i´d say its ok to use male movements .
And for those who never have seen a Girl playing paintball or played with one ,
i´ll tell you that : There is virtually no difference when a Girl determined to win fights with a guy  I have to know it  Behold

I am a man. In the fantasy world of gaming therefore I want my virtual avatar to be male. I can understand the dilemma of female and transexual male gamers in that there are no females in Brink. But in a way I’m glad for this because I find the phenomena of virgin anime loving male gamers that prefer to play female characters a bit disturbing and pathetic.

I have lots of fights with my girlfriend, and its usually me that has to run away.
Yeah men and women don’t move the same but does that really matter in a game?
If they would use all the male physics and movement it would be fine by me.
might be ok with you, but the haters would tear it apart

(chamber666) #145
if you think men and women move the same, I’d hate to see any women near you, it’s not already done and the figures you say I pulled out of my ass are very realistic, prolly within less than 10%.
A female character, excuse me, 3 female characters would cost that much, do some research, you come across more idiotic evey post
get out of the basement man, its a GAME not a real world simulation, and its a FPS at that! if you’re really going to nit pick over whether or not a female light body type has a little wiggle in her ass as she’s running around in a firefight you’ve got deeper issues to deal with and probably wouldn’t be satisfied with anything.

new character models fitted to the existing animation frames, maybe scale them to be slightly shorter…appropriately modify existing clothing models, a little reskinning and texturing, get some girls from the local college theater dept in for a few days to do ADR and call it a wrap.

with the exception of the voice work, my friends and i would do this stuff all the time with PC games we played years ago. a team of interns could put this out in under a month and for definitely far far less than what you claim.

if i were project lead for brink thats how i’d do it and its also how i’d make SD a nice healthy profit. you don’t build a whole new house just to put new siding on it

(Lydia) #146

Mister , you officially made my day xD
Not only with that , but with your whole post
Doesn´t seem too difficult to me :3

Splash Damage started as a non-commercial online mod-making community. And they are many non-commercial mod makers out there. Most are expecting a Brink SDK at some point.

That said, if SD chooses not to do it, there is still a chance the community can. Maybe have some minimal supervision by SD, declare a winner and bundle it in at some point. Reward doesn’t have to be monetary, a lot of these modders would be happy with just credits for their curriculum.

If the DLC is not free, it should be visible to all, but usable by those who acquired it.

Personally I vote for just light and medium models based on community created content. And see how it goes from there.

(Lydia) #149

I agree to McAfee . Starting a contest and picking the top 10/12/15 whatever .
And i´d prefer light and medium only , too :3

(H3LLS1) #151

it WOULD help people stick together more following that around LOL

(chamber666) #152
Chamber, lol.

Not only do men and women move differently, but they have different proportions. Their shoulders are narrower, while their hips are wider.

Females are built entirely differently, and if you expect that you’re going to have characters that are worth while, while using a skeltal system that’s completely not suited for them, then you’re completely wrong. : D
proportions are math. math can be scaled

(its al bout security) #153

what a beast, you snap and ill fap back:stroggbanana:

(Lydia) #154

Propoertions are tricky in Brink , cause they are not like IRL @v@
But they can be scaled , and movement is OK , i think . Maybe some things wil have to undergo a change , but all in all , realising that shouldn´t be too hard or expensive at all

(Nail) #155

you keep proving my point Chamber

"you come across more idiotic every post "

(StillBatusBrad) #156

I’m a bloke, so wouldn’t need 'em.

That said, there should have been female chars included from the outset, as chicks fighting on both sides seems reasonable to me, and in keeping with the tone and setting.

They’re a strange omission, which I’ve seen no dev comment on.

(SphereCow) #157

Lol. You’re none too bright, are you?

it’s always cute when internet disagreements end with “you’re stupid!” “no! YOU’RE stupid!!” duuurrr.

(Lydia) #160

The internet hate machine .
You know what ? I feel guilty now ,
cause i dug up that carcass ._.

(H3LLS1) #161

btw…i don’t know if yall noticed…but this topic is ALL OVER THE PLACE on the 'net. opinions vary…but it’s a hot topic with the game

(chamber666) #162

nail, you’ve got thousands of post proving you’re a neckbearded douche. if your sanctimonious bull**** act wasn’t so funny, it’d be sad

if the SDK were released tomorrow, we’d have our first female character model within a week. we’d have as much or more customization options for them than the male models within a month…and none of those people, even collectively are going to spend 6 figures on it

point of the matter is, SD could accomplish this with minimal effort and investment, if they utilized the right resources
