On one of the old videos Richard Ham said 10% and 15% for the two Engineer Weapon Buffs
I also recall in an interview I found on the internet that the Kevlar Buff decreases damage taken by 10%.
Does anyone have the right numbers for these?

the improved weapon buff is very very powerful. i don’t care what the numbers are but i can tell when i get killed by someone with weapon buff vs. someone without it.

Some of the old prerelease stuff said 15% for the lvl 1 buff. With how they handle the medic buff it is probably either 30% or 25% for the lvl 2 version.
It would be really awesome is splash damage gave us some numbers here.
Weapon Buff multiplies damage by 1.175.
Improved Weapon Buff multiplies damage by 1.33.
Kevlar works. Both Soldier’s automatic and Engineer’s given.
Kevlar has a 0.8x multiplier
Armor Piercing simply ignores the damage reduction of Kevlar Vest.
Example:
An Engineer (using Improved Damage) hits me (Soldier with auto Kevlar) with the Rhett.
51 Head
34 Body
25 Legs
I switch to another class. Without Kevlar, his improved Damage hits me for:
63 Head
42 Body
32 Legs
is the buff for primary and secondary or just primary? the buff last until you die or just temporary?
Thanks for the link Bullveyr.
Scub it buffs your primary and secondary weapons. It seems to last around 3 minutes but it also goes away when you die.
Buffs lasts until death, and i don’t mean incap, i mean DEATH, when you respawn.
I’ve read that the soldier’s kevlar ability isn’t working. Is this true?
The Brink Prima Strategy guide has the value for kevlar listed as a 10% damage reduction. For the weapon buff, it starts off with an 18% increase to damage and when you upgrade into improved weapon buff, it increases to 31%. This is all from the Brink Prima Strategy guide.
Yes, this is true. You will note that your Soldier does not have the Kevlar icon listed as an active buff when spawning. Also, an Engineer can buff a Soldier with a Kevlar vest, something that would be impossible if they already had it active. Oversights like this make me hate testers as this one was rather obvious.
According to Den, the soldier’s kevlar DOES work, theres just a coding error that allows engis to buff you even when you already have kevlar. And since he uses in game testing to get his numbers, I’m inclined to take his word for it.
Makes you almost wish you were one yourself
Though I’m talking about other slip ups.
