How Med Stations Stack?

(Press E) #1

I’ve gotta admit, I’m a little embarrassed, being an Aura main and all. But what actually happens when you put a med station next to another med station?

Do you both get the same XP?
Is only the first med station counted for XP?
Is the heal XP evenly split between both Aura players?

I’m really curious if anyone’s observed this more.

lets say theres 2 Aura. Aura A and Aura B.

Aura A put down the station first, then B second

the Line, which is representation as the maximum area the station can cover.
the line between two of the station overlaps but the only one will heal is the one which the AoE gets touched first.

@sweetColumn Ah, that makes sense. At least my healing reach med station will probably win most of the time when new players put theirs next to mine.

What if one station has potent packs though? Does it automatically take priority?

(Jostabeere) #4

As far as I know, the first station heals you. And I’m pretty sure its nearly impossible to get into the AoEs of 2 stations at the exact same time. You could try it out.

i dont know if potent packs affect station tho, i thought it was useless in aura station.

It’s basically just a greedy thoughtless player worry about racking up xp so they place theirs infront of someone elses so they can get the xp and not the other Aura. Instead of placing it in another strategic spot they just care about getting the XP that another Aura would get.

What if you jumped down onto them from above? you’d land on both at the exact same time wouldn’t you?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Well maybe you still have to calculate the exact point you have to perfectly jump on so you’re exactly in the middle between the 2 stations.

Can’t resist myself, sorry

I’ll try watching more specifically in the next games I play to see what happens to my XP. I have a feeling it’s just the first med station, but I’m still unsure.

Usually the players who do this are low level Auras who probably just assume it stacks. I haven’t really seen any high level players do this.

But then again, I haven’t seen a lot of high level players play Aura. There aren’t a lot who seem to like her.

When you put two aura stations next to each other Smooth dies a little.

(BananaSlug) #13

lol, Aura main, why would you ever want to main anyone, i will never get that

(Nail) #14

it’s what all the cool kids do in all those other unrelated shooters

(TitaniumRapture) #15

my main is Aura too because i cant hit anything

DB’s Merc system (as in only speed, hp, and slight ability changes) and generally shared weapon choices allow not having a ‘main’ to be much easier. If you suck at sniping, you’ll generally do terrible with all 3 snipers, I happen to be bad enough at sniping that I can’t use the Grandeur either. But you give me a Dreiss and suddenly it’s WW3 Gangnam style faceshooting.

I hate it whenever I feel I have a main in a game. In DB, I just have people I feel are more solid in different situations. Such as Nader on Bridge, or Proxy on Underground in PUBS.

Meh, I find it is just a nowadays kids “cool” way of saying preference. I don’t mind. Hell I’m not gonna post my Phoenix hours here again but I’m definitely not a “Phoenix main” even so. snort I just like the character.

(TheFluffyOne) #18

I don’t have a main either, but I do have a favorite. No other merc will ever get close to the hours I got with Kira. I don’t even know why I play her so much, I’m terrible with burst rifles and dreiss isn’t on the loadouts I prefer. Maybe I just like the colors of the laser and the screams of agony of its victims.

(GatoCommodore) #19

“You should not have a favourite weapon. To become over-familiar with one weapon is as much a fault as not knowing it sufficiently well.”

“One should not be negligent in the way of the retainer. One should rise at four in the morning, practice sword technique, eat one’s meal, and train with the bow, the gun, and the horse.”

Playing a merc that suits your playstyle and you enjoy more than others makes you a cool kid?
