How is team balance being fixed?

We’re supposed to be seeing changes to the balancing system next year so what are these changes going to be?

I’ve had way too many games where the teams weren’t balanced at all. I realize skill gap is a very real thing, but it gets kind of tiring having to carry just about every game I get in. It’s not just high skill players getting screwed over though, as there still are games where it’s painfully obvious that most if not all of one team is simply better than the other.

Besides that, are we going to see a change in the shuffle teams option? I don’t think I’ve ever managed to get a successful team swap passed (have seen others get it however). It really requires way too many people to pass one. It also should be impossible to call one in the last 60 seconds of a match either IMO.

Higher skilled players tend to not only get hit hard themselves but also the players on their team that are more inexperienced than the rest on the server and are used to help offset the high skilled player versus the other team. Making them cannon fodder. I think a lot of times this can lead to somewhat more balanced games but a much worse experience for the more inexperienced players who have to get stomped because they were sorted on the super experienced players side and now have a harder team to face.

I honestly have no clue how they can fix it. High end matches with really great players on both sides can be stomps pretty often. It’s the nature of the beast. I’m not saying they should not try and there are some things that can help a bit more but as it is right now balance is kind of a myth and also what feels balanced to one person on a team might not feel balanced to another.

Can’t say pub balance will ever be a thing because it’s literally a public place for playing. People will always leave mid-game, there’ll always be games of level 5-10 players and then one level 30+, and there’s never any communication so its kind of moot anyway.

Would rather MM become the standard, ff on or not I don’t care, and just have that be the main way of playing - would be far better once team and solo is split and people have their ranks. Can’t think of many other games that advertised themselves as a competitive game and not have MM be the go-to for matches.

more level separations would be a start. There is no way a game can be balanced well with lvl50s and lvl5s on the same server. Separating the two is the step in the right direction; at least for obj pub servers.

I think the only way for this game to have balance is to make the competitive servers the main place to play, and the pub servers the more “casual” place. Having comp servers as the base for playing would mean that matchmaking would only need to place people based on rank, instead of trying to shuffle based on level. Games would be more fair this way, and queues would not take as long since more of the community is there.

Isn’t the whole definition of public to be public? You’re essentially wanting to split it into ranked but on levels instead, which is a pretty bad way to base people’s skill to be fair. If anything, I’d at least up the Max 6 to Max 10 or so.

im not promoting major skill separations like you have in MM with 20+ ranks or so.

Some level separation is needed though. I have NO business playing with lvl5 people. In fact i never do, if i cant join a minlvl10 im not playing at all.

At the moment though lvl10 is the new5, skill levels are nothing like in closed beta. We’d need at least minlvl20.

Ideally you’d have sth like

max 5 - beginners
1-15 intermediate
10-30
15+

Thats only one more server separation, but prevents me joining a default server which is always a hilarious stomp&carry (or trying to fight an entire team on your own backed by clueless lvl1s and 3s)

Make max 10, max 20 and max 30 Servers.

whats the purpose of max 30?

Today I played an objective game.
It wasn’t very balanced from the beginning, the attackers couldn’t get the EV repaired (Bridge).
I see how this one guy being lvl 10+ switches to my side.
Others seemed to follow as at the end every single high level was on my side.
Meanwhile every low level player was on the attacker team.
It didn’t take long until it turned into a total spawn camp.

One of the low level players got in discussion with the guy who first switched to my side.
He asked him if it wasn’t more fun to play a balanced game and the other guy answers that he would be on my team from the very beginning.
Not only that, he even said we won just because of him.
I’m just sitting there like…wow.

While that discussion is ongoing I switch to the being spawn camped team but…how am I supposed to turn it around?
I sadly wasn’t able to switch before because the player numbers were even.

So, yeah. I may be wrong but it seems like it’s not only the game’s fault but people being complete dicks who just want to stomp.

We will never have even smell of a balance in pubs when >20 lvl stackers in casual server is a real thing.

People always spend too much time complaining about the balance instead of focusing on the game and getting better.

In the end of the day the levels mean so little, if you’re good in fps games you’re good and if you suck you suck. Only advantage high levers have is map and merc knowledge and everybody can learn it.
I’ve seen tons of people who are low levels and are better than +30 level players.

What might cause less crying might be that people with over level 10 wouldn’t be able to play with people with less than level 10 at all.
This would give new players some time to get to known to the maps and mercs, after that its all up to the player how he succeeds.

Maybe just get rid of the level system…does it really do much but give us a free case when we level?
