I assume it would try to match you with a server close to your location in order to provide optimal ping. For example; I live on the US southern east coast so being connected with a New York server is quite common for me. But every now and again I manage to find an anomaly where I land in an Aussie or British server. It’s happened a little over a dozen times for me now but it’s never been a big problem. I am in no way complaining as for the most part this system works wonders and I am able to land in very good server with little trouble. I just want to know what might have caused these anomalies.
