I doubt you can say anything from that video. Quality is bad and its recorded with spectator lag.
Dont see anything too special. Just weird hes a low lv but even thats possible… I mained scout in TF2 comp… and had the same accusations at the start.
If that passes for hacking then I have at least five aimbots on every time I play.
Thanks for the reply guys, I was wondering how the person got reported for aimbotting, wallhacking if its crosshair doesn’t even track on the target and wasn’t pre-aiming when coming out of the corner. I’d like to play this game but few hours of on public match and i’ve encountered a lot of bantering about hackusations, not sure if the game is littered with hackers or hackusators.
@blazingRacer There is a lot of hackusations because of the very high skill ceiling in Dirty Bomb. This means a decent player can completely outclass a newer player to the point it seems like hacking. There is also a zero tolerance policy on hackusations via the forums. Any reports should be sent in game or through a ticket with Support.
(Just a headsup)
Well as @FireWorks said, the spectator client is not in sync. So when spectating someone and their tracking, but the crosshair is trailing way behind the target, he is probably on target on his screen. The current spectator client is pretty bad. And that video was just as terrible. There’s not a lot of hackers in DB, but there are tons of haccusations.
I have been called a hacker numerous times since i started playing, but i have played Unreal, CS, Halo & Battlefield so this game is nothing but delicious to me and easy coming from that kind of background.
To answer the thread title: it generally comes with experience and knowing what to look for. If you suspect someone, try spectating them. If you still think they aren’t legit, report and move on. No point in getting pissy in chat with them. It just gets them off. That’s the reason they cheat in the first place.
If someone has insane knowledge about your location and an amazing aim with barely any hours in the game or a similar game, switch to nader and see if he tries gibbing you with a knife ;p
Play a bit, know a bit. Play more, know more.
Really, know what you are able to see and to know it, in this spectated one’s position_, while using headphones and your mum not ironing alongside. Thx.
PS: And yes, lvl 50+ doesn’t automatically prove, this one is cheating.
That guy wasn’t even close to a hacker.
I swear, the skill difference in this game is so massive and people can’t accept that others are more skilled than they are. It makes for a bad combo that ends in wilds amounts of hackusations.
I usually just report players that are suspicious. Played against a gold 5 (didn’t get his level or time played) that went 42/4 with vasilli, granted we were getting spawn camped on trainyard, sooo. Not saying he was a hacker, but that ratio with that rank, probably close to 90-95% accuracy, knowing exactly where people were, and some of the shots that were being pulled off, it’s questionable, so just report and let the devs/support figure it out.
I’ve been playing DB for a while and there comes a point in time where you can tell the difference between skill and just flat out aimbot or hacking. It’s really not that hard to tell at some points.
When players shoot at you and hit every bullet on you or get all headshots you need to understand that “skill” may not always be the answer.

They’ll try to use the “they’re not even headshots” excuse… but aimbots have levels of “improvement”. Only the blatant hackers turn it up to one hundo. Or they’ll toggle it so they’re not always dominating but just enough to win and be suspicious.
It’s really hard to tell most of the time, but if they’re killing everyone on the enemy team in one pistol shot from across the entire map, you can be pretty confident they’re hacking. And yes, that did happen before. Haven’t seen a hacker that bad since, so hopefully that means it got fixed to prevent that cheat.
Thank you all for your replies, i was just confused on the video because it says there “how to catch a hacker” but i played it several times and i cannot tell how did he manage to conclude that the guy is hacking. Was hoping someone here could give a clue, what to look at or how to distinguish it but i guess the video was just another form of hackusations.
I’ve been called a hacker and a cheat numerous times and I’m not even close to being as good as some of people I’ve come up against or play with. People just like throwing the ‘hacker’ out when they get out played, I guess it’s a denial thing uh? But seriously I laugh it off these days, I know I’m legit and that’s all that counts plus listening to someone cry haxxor in broken English can sometimes be pretty entertaining.

Thats just PURE PURE PURE EPIC BS…
Considering games like APBR , CSGO etc DirtyBomb is childs play. Easily controllable spread, no spread through iron sight. Ability to insta heal etc…
DB doesnt have high skill ceiling, and players with average+ ability to act fast are being called hackers in DB ! I get called hacker almost everyday, not because i am super pro, its because i got a lot of experience on games with heavy uncontrollable spread , recoil etc !

While spread is easy, the abilities and fast paced nature of the game with its high TTK make it have a high skill ceiling. Accuracy and tracking counts in Dirty Bomb.

I use shotguns or SMG, while with smgs i hit 75%+ on head and shotgun well its RNG …sometimes i do get 2 hit kills !
So pretty much its still low TTK…
The only time i feel DB being fast paced is while using Fletchy, jump shoot, throw sticky ,blow, jump shoot etc…
everything else feels sloooow…
