I have an Arty loadout card that has Guardian Angel, but I don’t think I remember ever it being useful. What am I looking for, exactly?
How does Guardian Angel work?
If someone puts an air strike or Arty marker near you, you’ll get a louder warning and take less damage from them
Is that it? Mm, doesn’t sound like much of a benefit to be honest… Apart from taking less damage, sure, but the audio warning isn’t really useful since it sounds loud enough without it.

You also get a shiny three-spoked beam before a Kira strike I think.
I thought that was intrinsic for her beam to give players a fair warning where it’s forming, no?

Not sure. I often play with CR81 Phoenix which has Guardian Angel, so I rarely notice.
It’s useful if you’re an engineer. Helps you know if you have to bail while repairing the EV or whatever.
Not as useful for other mercs, but I guess sometimes it can be hard to see markers, so it doesn’t hurt.
I didn’t know it actually reduced airstrike damage though. Honestly never noticed it. Though I figure that’s because you pretty much get instagibbed a meter away, but after 2 you don’t even take any damage basically.
I could see it being immensely useful for Engies, especially considering they’d be primarily focused on the point. Though in the case of Arty - which I generally use in the backline - might be hard to justify running with it.

Yeah, I’m not entirely sure why they gave it to him. Even for engineers it’s not so useful once you get used to the game. A lot of mercs have some pretty questionable perks in fact. Unless you love the other perks and weapons or find yourself dying to a lot of airstrikes, might as well switch it out.
It’s a beeping sound for Salvo and Airstrike.
Arty’s marker could be hidden and hard to notice before it’s about to strike, so it’s very useful against Arty.
and for Laser, it make squeaking like sound (too low for non audiophile ear to hear that) when it’s about to forming and beeping sound if laser move towards your position.
Interesting, I’ll have to listen close for it in-game then. If it’s hard to listen to, then I don’t think it would be useful still, considering the amount of sounds already drowning out most things anyway.

I had a friend who claimed they usually couldn’t hear the guardian angel chimes because they sounded really similar to her tinnitus. Not sure how accurate that was, but she claimed she had met other people who had a hard time hearing them
good against Firesupport spam
also more protection against javelin
It’s mostly useful against Kira laser because you can hear the warning when she’s calling her pillar of fire. Arty’s artillery can be heard enough without this but the -10% damage is welcomed. I don’t remember getting the warning when Javelin is aiming at you.
Though I think it might be a little buggy as sometimes I can hear the warning even if I’m far enough from the incoming airstrike.
