DONT BE A SNIPER AT THE BACK OF THE MAP!! i see so many people doing it, it is useless in this game, i am not sad to admit i use to do tht though
Honestly, it’s not hard to top score and/or score high will Vassili, even if you’re a terrible sniper. Just push forward, throw that heartbeat sensor every chance you get and actually try support combats your team mates enter in rather than picking off people in the distance who are no threat to anyone up close.
Too many people sit back behind the objective in a safe position, not using their heartbeat sensor, or they just put it way too close to their own spawn where it is of no help to their team who are trying to holding choke points. They sit there trying not to die (because K/D matters in an objective game right?) only plinking off enemies who are miles away and have no idea they are being targetted. Gotta get those easy kills right? Kills matter guys. /sarcasm. It’s actually beyond retarded and I have no tolerance for these kinds of people.
Dirty Bomb is 100% objective based. If you don’t get the objective done, you’re going to lose. End of story. Kills/deaths do not matter one single bit. Too many people seem to think “as long as I am not dying I am doing good for my team” and this is why aliens don’t visit us. Just push forward and try to kill enemies at choke points before they reach the objective. Stop sitting behind the damn objective only killing people as they push right forward (because by then they have usually killed your engineers as no one tried to stop them pushing through mid map). Common bloody sense.
As Dox mentioned, you don’t need to be an aimbot machine to top-score with Vassili. Honestly, one of the best strategies, if you’re not a great shot is to go for the body shots and incapacitate downed enemies. Both of these help A LOT. If you bodyshot an enemy, you’ll find that you may get the kill a lot because they’ve already been damaged by your team. If you don’t, then you’ll take off an enormous chunk of damage which can be very helpful for your team to finish them off.
You’ll also want to stick with your team and finish downed enemies! This helps tremendously and you can rack up points quickly. Finishing that downed Proxy before she gets revived and taps the EV with her blowtorch one more time might be the difference between winning and losing.
Finally, DON’T BE AFRAID TO SHOOT YOUR GUN. I get it, you wanna be a pro-mlg sniper headshotting people with 90% accuracy… That’s just not gonna happen. If you see someone running across a short section and you’ll probably miss, still take a quick twitch shot because you might hit them. But of course be careful about the times you do this. Sometimes you’ll need to retreat if 2-3 people are coming at your with automatic weapons!
It’s the little things with Vassili that give him all the points, not the kills. Heartbeat sensors and assists add up to an insane amount. Most importantly, STICK WITH IT. Keep practicing and fine tune your settings for sniping. Eventually you’ll start pinging heads and killing entire teams. Sniping in Dirty Bomb is a lot harder than games like CoD or Battlefield. It takes a while to get used to. Good luck!
But seriously, just practice your clicking skills, get them headshots, ALWAYS move up with your team. Learn good sniping spots on maps, and often change your position.
Oh and throw balls all around the place.
I almost forgot, for the love of god or godess, DONT use the PDP. It might be way easier to use thus making it seem that it teaches sniping better (kinda) but it really doesnt, practice with the bolt actions, thats where its at. If you miss, you miss, you will eventually get it right.
Or you know, you will just end up playing medic, cause none of the glorious teammates are picking medic. Like its so hard.
I click heads on the frontline with my team and have heartbeat out in annoying locations for the enemy.
Yup, good advice here. Push forward. Use the heartbeat sensor for more than yourself and learn good spots for it. Don’t sit in the back of the map, be aggressive and remember you have 110hp and an MP400.
DB is a different beast of a game. Sitting in the corner of a map scoped in the whole time and taking pot shots from across the map only makes you a mild nuisance at best and an anchor around your team’s neck more often than not.
Also, go find some non-montage Vassili play on YT so you can watch how people setup their shots and play. That will catch you up quicker than anything.

i actually just bought aimee.
because i thought why not?
then i realize she only have 90 health
and the robot a bit suck
Aimee is going to require a completely different playstyle. She doesn’t have the HP or an MP400 to allow her to push areas that Vas can. She does have crazy good mobility though…but if you aren’t well versed with the games maps and movement mechanics yet or aren’t a very mobile player in general you’re going to struggle harder with her than you will with Vas.
She’s good but Aimee is definitely going to be more for seasoned players than people starting out. So, yeah, you should probably just stick to Skyhammer until you learn the game a bit better then move on to the sniper characters.
Aimee is actually a great counter sniper, because any Vassili worth counter sniping is going to be using a bolt action sniper, and if your Aimee card happens to be f82, quickeye makes you much harder to hit, and bomb squad can help you find those obnoxious heartbeat sensors. You’ve also got Guardian angel as an added bonus for those who struggle with tunnelvision. If thrown while nobody is paying attention, which is surprisingly frequently, or thrown short distances, the snitch is incredibly useful, getting those Pheonix one shots on a body shot is so much fun
I play Aimee agressively and I have 52% accuracy with the Felix, and improving. The PDP is better against tanks, and shit against mobiles, though this flips if you land headshots

i actually on my way to level 30 and never touched sniper class.
i always ramble on how they keep sitting on their arse all day on the edge of the map without actually contributing anything
then vas free day came, i tried him.
not easy as it looks…
maybe thats why people keep sitting on the edge of the map and shooting at nothing
(literally lowest scores in the games i played is either vasilli or newbie playing aura)
but i have seen people with actual skill on games i played
he can block an entire lane with his hidden magic balls and a pdp
headshotting anyone trying to pass.
he even drop rhino under 2 sec.
if sniper takes skill to play, i guess i should play it so i wont be so harsh on those new vasillis
1) Headshots.
Questions ?
Yes, where on the body is the head found?
I’m not the most amazing Vas but I can probably dig up some pub footage at some point if it’ll help people tbh.
Search dbnationgg twitch and check out some of the older competitions in Australia.
tjk is an excellent example for Vassili and the team he is on hasn’t lost a single Aus/Asia comp since the beginning of the game.
He basically mains Vassili in comp games, always pushes forward, or at least throws his heartbeat sensor where it’s more useful for his team holding mid map rather than himself, and always takes the bodyshots if the headshot is too risky.
Although nobody here will say it, sitting in the back can be effective. IF and only IF, you can get headshots consistently. Chapel is a great instance where the entire team can be wiped (or at least a significant portion) allowing for your team to deal with stragglers while pushing the obj. Also, you need to be able to counter snipe if you are going to do this as it becomes enormously less effective if the vas on the other team is much better than you.
But yeah, what the other people have said is solid advice as well.
How do you play Vassili?
You don’t, you don’t play Vassili.
Motion sensor, not hiding in the back like a coward, moving with the team
i thought counter snipe is pretty useless since it took your precious time that was needed to deal with other merc other than the other sniper, of course if the whole team is vasilli…
