how do ranks work?

so i was unranked and won 8/10 games needed to get a rank , started at silver 3 then i won 2 games and now im gold 5 what the hell is this logic???!?!?

I assume DB is using ELO. Google ELO-system.

Ten ranked games to determine your average of statistics for the leaderboards. If your statistics, on average, are better than the average statistics of gold 4 ranked players then you will be ranked as gold 5 or higher.
The treshold is 10 ranked games for your average statistics to be ranked.

It would be really great if I would not keep getting teamed up with 4~ unranked players, against players of my own rank or something higher. It is just not fair in any way, and even when those ranks are hidden until the end… You know, it is just one minute, and you know which of your team members are fucking unranked.

It honestly pisses me off.

Seen it once. I jumped from unranked to silver 1. But didn’t got any change since. Don’t know how it works.

I kinda believe its a myth…

If its not, it might be a very good idea to decrease the default value of fresh players.

Rank system sux a bit, everybody is gold. Good and Very Bad player are Gold, this is broken … :frowning:

Well there is a right way, and there is a wrong way. Depends if you care or not. Elo is a name, it is not an abbreviation.

If you capitalize all letters in a word doesn’t make it wrong.
