How do NX and SD plan on making money off DB after all this?
THE FOLLOWING IS JUST MY OPINION:
They probably did this so that its somewhat fair to players. Take for example: the founder’s proxy has hollunds whereas the closed beta obsidian proxy is reimburg. If they were to fix a hochfir proxy, those who wants a shotgun would complain=unhappy players. If they were to fix a shotgun, those who have the same type of gun in obsidian proxy before would complain. Thats why the simplest way to solve this is to 1/9 as they cant possibly satisfy every single player. I personally prefer this as i really dont know what i really want for proxy so im letting SD to help me decide. I decided to pay money for this is because i really like dirty bomb as and overall and i want that game to prosper.
Sry if i ranted and maybe offended some people but this is my personal opinion on this. Do not forget that dirty bomb is a FTP game! (They also need funds to continue improving this game)
There is no reason to not complain about this issue even this game is F2P.
Look at DB right now, outside of the game is huge full set of damn RNGs. Yes, all those special editions are not like OP guns or loadouts people want just like in A.V.A. and Crossfire, FPS games with HELL of GAMBLING. I know this better than anyone as South Korean, where shitty Korean game companies(Including NEXON. Hard to understand? ask any Koreans about how Nexon is.) ruin the whole game with tons of fxcking random box, capsules where all things go RANDOM.
Well DB is completely free from that issue YET. (I said YET. DB is way too vulnerable to be screwed up like that. May be they will change one augment for cobalt as baby step, who knows?)
But at least we deserve what we want as long as we PAY. SD will not modify the trash, or loadouts that are treated worse than better one(for example, Bush’s C82.) because people won’t trade up/in with enthusiasm, but that doesn’t mean we don’t deserve any fixed loadouts that we want BY PAYING REAL MONEY.
2nd gen loadout cards aka 2nd attempt to cash in with Elite Cases.
That’s how they’re going to make their money.
Could not agree more , only thing I bought were a couple of mercs, I would never buy a case because of the ridiculous high price tag and you will end up with a silver anyways. Events are also very hard to enjoy with all the RNG , you can grind your ass off with no reward in the end. Nexon business model just plain sucks
There’s a reason I don’t buy Elite Cases. The price compared to the chance of actually getting what you want is way too high. The worse odds of getting something, the cheaper it should be.
Dirty Bomb has so many great ideas with so much poor execution.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the game but I’m still critical of it, and it’s really unfortunate that the developers are forced into such an awkward relationship with Nexon’s contract; most of the devs are good folk, and I can’t imagine moving to a new country or city to work for Splash Damage and incidents like this happen.
I’m not saying they’re not at fault here, but the least they could do is admit some flaws and provide something to make up for it. It’s even more stressful that they’re willing to give out free cases to make up for long maintenance times but not for misleading their PAYING fanbase over and over again.
It’s like seeing a puppy pee itself; it’s cute and forgivable at first, but after 2 years the puppy is big now and so is the mess.
I want to support Dirty Bomb, and RNG can be a good thing, but this isn’t the way to do it

whoa, shiny window guy.
i subscribed to you channel.
i used to buy mercs with real money.
then the last ReV Update as intended made me think not to use real money anymore because it doesnt feel right.
many people are angered.
seriously if they want more people to give them money, dont make rng such a chore for the people that feeds you.
at least SD is not Overkill that made payday.
I was reading the forum without having an account for a bit of time just to stay aware of the news and I recall there was a guy who warned you few weeks sooner about all of that and he got banned. Name was Jesus I think or something like that. He told everyone Nexon/SD were playing cashgrab. He also told people to choose stoker because he has less chance to fall on a bad loadout, no one believed him and people were so confident about SD giving them an hochfir card. And he got banned after all for predicting the truth. You banned the guy for spreading FUD. Apparently his fear and doubt was justified. And SD just confirmed the uncertainity. Sweet irony
He got banned for repeated violations of the forum rules. Please remove your tinfoil hat.
i am fine with the, f2p model but… paying 15$ for “random” merc and random card
sorray SD, you simply fucked up that

but you cant say he wasnt right after all ? Because what he said happened in the end
You guys just need to speak with your wallets. Stop spending money on this game because they will feed you the same shit over and over again. Just put yourself in their shoes and think for a little bit. If you sell something to someone that has a big chance of not fulfilling the person’s needs so he can come back and buy some more until it does… Would you change anything about it or would you just keep selling your stupid product to the same idiot who comes back and keeps buying it? No… you wouldn’t. Why would you go through the effort? The day where you stop making money is the day you’re going to think your strategy all over again. It might take a few tries with Splash Damage though because they are a confident bunch (I don’t know why… Brink, 'nough said.).
So, now, everyone is going to fight against their almighty RNG system… Again and probably have a nice shiny load of jack shit that will end up being nice and pretty in their inventory and probably stay nice and pretty because it will not be used… at all.
I am so fucking glad that I didn’t buy into this bullshit because I knew that with everything interesting SD comes up with there’s always a little shit stain on there that just makes everyone regret their purchase. Unfortunately, my girlfriend is one of them.
SD pretty much came clean when they released information about 2nd gen loadout cards about their 1st generation cards being badly balanced and some being just plain terrible. BUT! Even with that being said, fuck that! You guys will be getting a nice 1/9 chance to get a good loadout for the obisidan Proxy you guys generously paid for. They’re generously giving you a chance of winning the other loadout cards that they admitted were terrible! LOL!

And that right there is the problem. You left people speculate… Speculate until the event was over. Never confirmed anything about this and let the people buy it. Once all purchases were final, even during that little week of “Hey everybody! SALES!” there was no confirmation what so ever. Everybody was just kept in the dark like we always are. I hope that people know what they’re dealing with now and I really hope that this is the straw that breaks the camels back.
I think it’s becoming more apparent of what’s actually going on here. The free-to-play model that SD has going on, I think, is becoming a distration like a developer of Lawbreakers stated when talking about their game and what they planned on doing with it.
“Art Director Tramell Isaac stated that the free-to-play model became a “distraction”, forcing the development team to look at ways to make the game profitable rather than an enjoyable experience for those investing their time to play.”

what pile of aids have you spewed onto here?
“He also told people to choose stoker because he has less chance to fall on a bad loadout, no one believed him and people were so confident about SD giving them an hochfir card.”
no ,lthat was the general consensus, many people wanted stoker, just noobs loved proxy, which is where the majority of her playtime came from. A guy above already explained why he got banned, it wasn’t for ur reason, and it wasnt by “us”, it wouldve had to been a mod. We didnt gather around and go: hmmm, i know, lets ban jesus…
I was naïve and gullible and still had a shred of faith, but they fixed that little problem for me permanently. You knew better and I should’ve listened to you to spare myself the dry 0 lube clusterfuck.
I am actually glad I didn’t’ buy a case! I hope the devs improve there communication, because the market is becoming ever more competitive with bigger name devs.
@Mercy your comment made my jaw drop I felt like I just witnessed a straight up murder.

If you make the game fun, the money will follow.
