How do i make my f1-f3 keys function?

Just got the game and I cant change my character from the shotgun to the machine gunner… what should I do??? I just tried to change the key I hit to change my character and it still wont work…

Are you on laptop?
If so perhaps your keys default to laptop functions (like volume control and stuff), look for a “F Lock” of “Fn Lock” button, or check the status bar for a utility that lets you change the setting.

Are you still in the tutorial? Do your keys funtion outside of DB just fine?
Control settings might be messed up.
