How do I get the loading bar to appear on my loading screen?

I’ve got a bit of a problem. Admittedly it’s only a small one, but it’s annoying nonetheless. Basically I can’t get the loading bar to appear on the map loading screen for my new multiplayer level. I’ve noticed that the loading bar only seems to appear on the default Wolf MP maps, and the GOTY map pack maps, and not other maps such as Ice, TrenchToast and MarketGarden.

Does anyone know how to get the loading bar to appear? Is it something set in the arena, script or map files? Is it harcoded and unusable for custom levels?

Oh, for anyone that cares, the map is very nearly finished. I’ve just done the final compile, and there is some information here: than.spawnpoint.org

The download doesn’t work. It did a couple of days ago, but I found a bug in my map on release day and postponed the full release by a few days.

i don’t do mapping, but i think you missing a point here:

So why don’t you open a default map like beach and copy the loading bar thing ?

well, I looked in the .map, .script and .arena files for mp_beach, and there was no obvious reference to a loading bar for the loading screen.

It doesn’t matter anyway, I’ve released the map without a loading bar. The map only takes half a minute to load anyway.

Well… The loading bar will not appear the first time.

At least in Wolf SP, when you have compiled the map and loads it it just says: “Please wait…”, and then the next time you load the map the loading bare will be there.

Haven’t been making MP maps yet. Still playing around with the GtkRadiant 1.5.0 tool.
Making maps with, funny scenes, cutscenes, conversations, etc. etc.

Try to rename the pk3 with your map so that it comes after the stock pk3s in alphabetical order. (another old topic revived!)
