How do I customise my HUD?

(gg2ez) #1

I’ve just passed 100 hours on DB due to the fact that I am on holiday and I usually mark 100hrs as the point where I actually get serious about playing. This turn of attitude is usually accompanied by various tweaks and comfort adjustments ingame, one of which is the HUD.

I’ve seen many posts on the forum about HUDs, but due to the fact that I have a strong sense of personal creation, I would like to customise one for myself.

Additional info: My monitor resolution is 1920x1080 for my desktop. My laptop res is 1633x768.

So the question in itself is: How do I customise my DB HUD?

Most people use this site here: http://wezelkrozum.com/temp/xt_hudconfig/v3/

Remember to set it to your resolution, and if you only want certain aspects changed just find the line in the text generation file and copy paste it into your ShooterUI, located at Users\Name\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config - remember to set it to read only too afterwards!

Takes a bit of trial and error. For first time users, best to back uo your DEFAULTUI.INI file before you modify. In case you mess up (like I did), just restore the back up.

And always affix the generated config in the end.

Yeah, it’s a bit confusing with all these boxes on my screen. Thank you for answering.

@K1X455 With the HUD generator, do you paste the text directly next to the end of the shooterUI or in the line under? Also, it says to do it in the DEFAULTUI.INI file but I can only find guides that say to put it in shooterUI. Please help.

I found that the part you need to paste is already there ([ShooterGame.SGUIHUDPlayer])
Is already there in mine so I used ctrl find to delete what is already there and paste it in its place.
About the shooterUI and defaultUI I haven’t noticed differences to which one you paste.
Path to shooterUI: C:\Users\eli\Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config
Path to defaultUI: (Wherever your steam library is at)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dirty Bomb\ShooterGame\Config

@steelMailbox thank you!

@gg2ez I press to get to the bottom of DEFAULTUI.INI and paste it there.
