I recently got my hands on a plugin that could take a 3d studio max scene and export it to a quake map file, the qmapexp. This plugin don’t seem to work with 3d studio max 8 or maybe I’m doing something wrong when trying to add it.
Anyway my main problem is that I have a really nice 3d studio max project with a complete town and I would like to export this to a quake map so that I can import it in gtkRadiant or q3Radiant, I havn’t really understand the main differences between them.
The first issue: Is there a way to export a .max file into a .map file or at least a .3ds file to a .map file. I tried to use ac3d but the .map file a got when I did an export didn’t load in gtkRadiant.
Second issue: Should I use gtkRadiant or q3Radiant for importing a quake map and creating a pk3 that I can use in ET?
Third issue: I tried to export my max file to ase and import this one in gtkRadiant but I couldn’t find where to import it in gtkRadiant. It seems like gtkRadiant only imports .map and .qmap
There should be some way to work around this problem even if the solution is to go through a third program like ac3d or something similar.
