how do i actually creat my own skybox?

hey…been looking on some tutorials bu they just give ya an prefab… i don’t want any prefab i wanna know how to make my own…

can somebody tell me in detail and step by step how to do this?

there was a program that would generate one for u, i think it was called terragen.

Yes - great prog to make your own skyboxes.
And when following a tutorial its very easy to make your own.
You have to generate 6 bmp files and name them in a spesific order.
Ill see if i can find the tutorial i used.
You have to know the coordinates to generate the bmp files and how to name them.

Here’s a pretty detailed tutorial for Terragen.

You can always look for ones that people already made for other games - there are a ton of them out there for Quake 3 that are ready to be downloaded.

There is also a program called HDR shop. Take some pictures of sky or something, and it will generate 6 images for you. Optionally, you can then blend a terragen terrain render (I recommend you learn how to use Terragen 2) into your images.
