How do can someone host their own maps over the internet?

I sware I have looked everywhere and can not find the answer to this …

I have tried changing the .cfg files in the etmain directory and concerting my map to a workable pk3, but I can’t get any of my maps to run hosting over the internet . I looked on google and found some information at http://www.rtcw.jolt.co.uk/content/enemy_territory/server_guide/ ,but nothing I have tried there has worked…

Surely somebody know how I can host my map over the internet to playtest with some friends?

I’ve made a pk3 file, but I can’t figure out how to get it to run with a server being hosted over the internet and can’t even test it to see if everything is included because of this.

You can test your pk3 file by creating a local server with your pc.
Put the pk3 file into your etmain directory (I recommend a “clean” test installation only ET + patch).
Start ET.
Then goto host game, choose your map and start the server.

I fixed it to where it loads now, but is at this time giving me a Hunk_Alloc error, which I do not get when I test the map in unpure mode locally.

Everything is working sort of like it is suppose to, so I think I know everything I need to know to make and play a map period. Now, with this new error I’ll have to tone donn the map anyways to make it smaller, so I think I’ll just recode it from scratch with the same basic design and maybe experiment with some new techniques with special lighting effects and stuff. And will take me less time too.
