how did you play without spread UI?

(XP_Expert) #1

all gun has their spread.
but i saw many youtuber playing dirty bomb without spread UI.
how can you do that?
isn’t it hard? or just your sens?
pls tell me how did you play like that.

(MilkyBear) #2

They just ignore it tbh lol

(BananaSlug) #3

because almost every weapon is laser, and good player will just know when to calm down with spamming, but most youtubers are pretty bad soo they just ignore it

(Jostabeere) #4

Only gun I know of that has a noticeable spread is the Minigun.

(TheStrangerous) #5

It’s their loss.

Timik with crosshair spread is a must, if you wanna hit something and upgrade from M4 B)

It’s almost like an artillery meta-game, like in WORMS series.

I don’t play with default crosshairs because they have no discernible outline to them. If I can’t see the crosshair what’s the point in using it?

Also, after so long, you just know the spread of the weapon anyway so you don’t need it.

I also find the default crosshair to be too obstructive, and the dot crosshair to be visible enough to not lose it but unobstructive enough that I can see what I’m shooting at.

(Terminal_6) #8

I’ve pretty much always played with the medium dot crosshair. I think the extra lines obscure too much, I like to see where my bullets are going. After all the time I’ve played, I’ve learned when to burst. Also, I rarely use the Timik. Perfect!

Fire in bursts fool

Well in my case I am always on dot crosshair unless there was a significant change to a guns behaviour from a patch. Every gun in this game, even the spread patterns, adhere to a fixed behaviour that is the same for everyone who uses it in the game. This means that it is predictable until its behaviour is changed again so the full crosshair’s spread ui becomes nothing more than a learning tool. Some players do choose to leave it on, and that is their right, but ultimately once you grasp the patterns its not a neccessity anymore and merely a matter of personal preference.

Personally I only turn on full crosshairs again if there was a change or something seems off with the pattern based on prior experiences. However, I digress, after playing long enough certain things are simply a matter of muscle memory. This is especially the case with matters pertaining to timing and reflexes; such as maintaining “controlled bursts” during combat.

(Szakalot) #11

its rarely optimal to burst fire from the hip. if you desperately need more accuracy (long range) you should go ADS and maintain full DPS.

otherwise youre better off with full auto and maximum DPS than a tiny acc advantage and a huge DPS loss.

90% you miss is cause the dot was off target, not because of weapon spread

With the 10% being shotguns, the minigun and the lmgs.

Mumble crosshair FTW

(priah) #14

Apparently the quote function is broken on these forums, don’t expect much better work from Nexon though lol.

@TheStrangerous you definitely don’t need the full crosshairs, my accuracy with the Timik is over 45% with the dot crosshair (sometimes use no crosshair). Once you learn the weapon and put enough hours on it you just know the spread, when to ADS, when to stop firing, etc. Having to look at the crosshair to check your spread takes away from your aim.

(cFn) #15

I always say in dirty bomb. No crosshair is best crosshair.

edited the template myself <3
i used THIS steam guide, and edited one of the crosshairs he added to the ZIP.

Crosshair
(Ardez1) #18

Vanilla makes the forums, Nexon just uses them. Also, what is broken?

Also, I have been playing with a dot crosshair since W:ET. The spread has never been a major factor on the guns I use.

(N8o) #19

Never even noticed.
I guess I just muscle memory it???
Idk, spread is distracting. I can usually see where my bullets are hitting.

@Szakalot But a lot of times doesn’t this dot crosshair just totally deceives yout brain like : every bullet will always go through that dot in the middle?

May be it’s only me but I feel much comfortable if enemy hitbox is right inside of the spread.

Or I can decide whether I have to ironsight or not if spread gets bigger than enemy.
