How broken is matchmaking?

3 times in a row i get mached against the same team consisting of a gold officer, 2 high silvers (these guys are in a team) and 2 randoms silver 2-3.
On my own team however, the highest rank is a silver agent.

I guess it goes wihtout saying that we got destroyed, and both 2 other times just had to deal with rape untill we could surrender. Deranked from silver specialist to 20% into silver recruit over the course of about a day.

It makes no sense that even when you get mached vs signifcantly more skilled players, you still lose about 20-30% of you rank, and you gain less rank for winning.

Almost everytime, i play ranked i question myself why i’m still playing this broken unbalanced game.
Am i a fool for believing that one day SD could actually do something right?

Kind regards,

A salty player that still has some hope, however it’s diminishing everyday.

It’s as random as opening a regular equipment case

One way to look at this is : it’s still better than pure PUB randomness, where you’l be stacked, then switched, then stacked again, then left alone, then switched again, then restarted on the map.

This was my experience yesterday on a min10 lvl. Tedious. Smurfes have the decency to achieve me in a 5 min match on ranked.

Ranked matchmaking is not perfect at all but it’s not as broken as many make it out to be. Most of time when you meet these high rank players ingame, they’ve waited at least 20-30mins to find that game. There simply are not always other high rank players queueing to match them. The matchmaking is not the worst when you consider the small playerbase and the huge skill ceiling this game has.

Players wanted to play with friends in ranked, now they got it with dynamic queue. But don’t expect the better players not to queue together aswell.

You shouldn’t lose 20-30% progress for losing a match that you shouldn’t have won on paper, though. If you’re not over exaggerated, that might be a bug.

Just like x3onn said, it takes much more longer to find a match as high rank player. This is why I stopped playing rank, once I received my 2000 points I left. I don’t even want that trinket because of the painful searching time. I believe this can only be cured by having more players to play rank, which certainly will bring more high rank players to rank. However, some people might like me who lost interest in playing DB after 1000+ playtime. Matchmaking is not doing what it was meant to do mainly because of low player base.
