How all the threads?

(RottenSkinFlute) #1

I joined this forum because i was interested in the game and curious why the release data kept getting pushed back. After seeing all these diiffernt threads my question is why/how are some many people created so many threads about the game and its gameplay? To my knowledge there is no beta version of the game that people are playing. There is a couple of teaser videos out and they look great but i can’t think of anything to question about the game since it has never been played.

I play on a PC and will buy the game when it is released and i check here periodically for any major news.

Am i missing something here? Please drop some knowledge on me peoples.

What are you talking about? May 17th. Confirmed by developers. Confirmed on bethsoft forums.

There are Previews and Pax footage and interviews.

You’re a little late on release date push backs. It’s confirmed now May 17 2011.

Go here and read ALL OF THIS.

And then come back and start reading threads.

It’s also very similar to previous Splash Damage games (which is a good thing :))

Jess- i knew about the release date push backs and i know they say the confirmed date is May 17, 2011. That still doesn’t mean it can’t change though. This thread wasn’t a observation a made today. I was generalizing over the last few months.

Nail- Thanks for answering my question. I didn’t know how available the game is currently to the public.

There are mass amounts of youtube videos for brink. From public cams to media taping. You’ll find all kinds of gameplay footage. It’s been frustrating til now to not have any footage.

It was more release seasons that were moved back than specific dates, I wouldn’t expect any further delay except for any sever unforeseen circumstances.

Why you like to talk about stuff you like? How so many words?

(1234567) #10

I wish they would’ve at least made a demo for download.

(Linsolv) #11

With it being only a month and a half to the announced release date, I wouldn’t expect any more push-backs. They’re bound to be going gold in a couple of weeks. They’d know by now if it was going to miss the deadlines and they’d have announced it by now.

Wasn’t the Crysis 2 demo released only 3 weeks prior to release?

(Jess Alon) #13

According to project timelines and what we’ve seen in the past. IF a demo drops it’ll most likely be right at the beginning of May and will feature 2 levels severely limited customization and only the medium bodytype. Also it will probably only have minimal unlocks and only go up to level five with just one character slot. This really wouldn’t show off the FULL glory of Brink so most likely it won’t be released.

I’m basing this off of paul wedgwood’s working demo he used in the beginning. They probably have been working on that and updated it. It’s super minimal and basically in a leaked video has about everything I just told you. If they release that’s probably what you would get.

Splash Damage would probably be worried that the demo would disappoint people because not everything would be there obviously. And the light wouldn’t be in to demonstrate the sweet parkour stuff.

Also likely the levels would be mini versions.

I wish SD will release a demo version, 20th May seems so far away…

…but I won’t expect it, cause that would be a deception that will only make the wait harder.

Jess Alon : as far as the speculations goes, I’d say : only one level playable by both sides (obviously), and the whole body types. Parkour elements are quite important for the game and its characterization, not featuring it in the demo wouldn’t be a good choice, I’d say.

(Seyu) #15

I think a demo a couple of weeks after release would be ideal.

Does SD have history of releasing demos? i havent played any of their game, so i dont know…

Yes they do. ETQW demo.
