HOW ADVANCED is the customization ( if someone from SD)

(naedae) #1

if a forum member or someone from SD could clarify.
will we be able to make characters from other games / movies ? for example the joker from batman, nathan drake from uncharted, etc, etc.
side note- how often does someone from SD post ? i know theyre busy with around 10 days till release, but just wondering cuz im really curious about making characters.

all the faces are pre rendered I’m pretty sure you won’t be able to make those types of characters. although there are supposedly like 400 quadrillion combos for customization so use your imagination and you just may be able to pull it off. but you’ll have to just wait until october to see the joker again my friend lol.

There are indeed pre rendered faces but you could, with face paint, look similar to the joker.

In one of the videos there’s a character dressed as a clown. I can’t remember which one, but it was only a glimpse and he was very far away. But like the others said, the faces are pre-rendered.

Why would the joker from batman, or nathan drake from uncharted be on the ark?
Are they lost?

wow… that sux. i’d still like to hear from SD
there was a poll on the bethesda forums and ppl were all getting excited for this saying what video game character they were gunna make and such. sad, there in for a huge dissapointment :[

(tokamak) #7

Splash Damage isn’t going to put the artistic aspect of the customization in the hands of the players. They leave that responsibility with where it should be, with the artists.

Brink aims at a certain style, if you allow people to knead their own characters, then that style goes lost.

Huge, meh. I don’t think it will be a huge disappointment.
It is just faces people are worried about. Theres plenty of masks w/ variations to choose from.

(naedae) #9

define plenty

(Linsolv) #10

Well, there are over 20 head/face accessories, if I recall, and that doesn’t take into account face paint.

(Whydmer) #11

And again over 400 quadrillion total combinations.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #12

and you can custimize color of just about everything. I think even gun paints if I’m not mistaken

(Whydmer) #13

The guns don’t have individual skins apart from preorder specials.

i dont want to sound rude or cynical, but i am sometimes.

put the switch from your brain to “on” and think about your request for a couple of seconds. the time you type the words into your machine might be enough to come to the conclusion that your request wont make it into the game for several reasons.

(has been mentioned before, i just repeat it)

first theres the art direction. every character you want in the game has to be adjusted for the visual design of the game.

then theres the lore problem. what would the joker want on the ark? or the guy from uncharted? or superman?

and lastly, i think this hasnt been mentioned, theres the copyright. it would cost a whole lot of money to buy the rights from sony, dc comics and whatnot.

oh, and one other thing… its just silly.

so. stop trolling around, start to think or grow up. in case your a youngster, im sorry if that was too rude. if not, brain, think, you get it…

edit: yay. just found that one in another thread that also fits here…

Please I am one snazzy purple suit away from being the Joker.
