I think a nice buff to the recon class in general would be reduced capture times, such as the forward spawn on terminal, and carry objectives. Thoughts?

Recons are not objective mercs.
Their main job is to get intel and get easy kills, mainly high health mercs.

3/4 of the current recons are snipers with a spotting ability, snipers are very useful at long range fights and it’s hard to kill them mostly, so it’s easy kills if you are one (assuming you can aim). Then you can also use your ability to grant your entire team wallhacks (Vassili), easy rush/defuse (Redeye smoke) or kill enemies faster (Aimee).
The last recon (Phantom) needs a buff and as he is now he is almost completely useless and his only way to get intel is use his microphone, but what he can do currently is disable enemy deployables which can help your team deal with players camping a health station and also you can use your armor to be invisible and know the exact positions and setups of the enemy team.

Recons don’t need a buff to objectives as they shouldn’t even do them. That’s what engineers are for.
But it would be nice if engies got a 20% faster delivery and capture rate because they only have 40% faster plant and ~60% faster defuse currently and since their actual name is “Objective Specialist” and not “C4 Specialist” it makes sense

Rather, if they do anything with recon, give every recon class an intel gathering power (PHANTOM). Would be great if a certain recon (PHANTOM) had like a tracking dart pistol, or some other way to mark targets…

Though, I guess that certain merc doesn’t really need it that much. After all the certain merc does at least now have a counter intelligence power.
