_Horrible_ CrossfireX Performance

(surxenberg) #1

Hello

I just bought BRINK last week. I said to myself “hey, this game is from splash damage, so it MUST be good!!1!”

Well, maybe the game is good. However, it is completely unplayable. 35 FPS in an online ego shooter game renders the game pretty useless.

My System specs:

AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.4 GHz
3072 MB DDR2 800
2x Radeon 6870 Crossfire
ASUS M4A79 Deluxe, 790FX chipset
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.

Yes, I did install the Catalyst 11.5b hotfix. Yes, i did install the 11.5 CAP3 from AMD.

Still, I’m getting nowhere close to decent gaming performance. Disabling shadows helps, but it makes the game look like 2001.

I find this completely unacceptable and I would like to know why Splash Damage did not adress this issue prior to releasing the game. I paid 65 Swiss Franks (which is about 70 US Dollars) for this game and I am very frustrated. Splash Damage better release a patch really soon.

P.S.: Quake Wars runs at 1920x1200 @ Full Details with 4x supersampling (not multisampling) and never falls below 80 FPS. Looks much better than BRINK with everything (including Shadows) toned down and still runs better. This better gotta be a joke.
