Hoping this is a typo

Black case and in the front is a fan with blue LEDs. Pretty cool. Not as flashy as alienware, but at least it has a blue LED.

(Smoochy) #42

blue LED ftw!
OR OR OR…You spend a day or two finding good pieces for a computer, waiting another 3 days for them to ship to you (unless you buy them from a store, but newegg is the way to go) and build it yourself.

Voila, you know have a better pc AND you saved money.
You need to inform yourself on compatibility, make sure you get the right parts and for the best price and then hope you don’t run intro trouble. Give or take a few weeks to plan your PC build and you’ll save yourself a headache.

AlienWare might be overpriced, but I could see how someone would like to pay it to get a plug-in-and-play computer which offers a supported set of components, even if you pay a premium.

The only problem I have with building your own PC is the whole warranty thing when they get all whiney about “you must have plugged it in wrong”. Although a decent supplier doesn’t tend to be such a big girl’s blouse about it.

Still. If someone said “I’ll buy you whatever PC / laptop you want. Price is no object.” I’d probably get one made out of diamonds… if they balked at that then I’d probably go for an alienware with all the trimmings.

He is a typical internet hater. He just can’t stand the fact that there are people out there who like this game since he has deemed it garbage. So, he HAS to get his point across and attack people who don’t agree with him

When I DON’T like something, I don’t sit around on a forum all day pouting about it, I move on.

Speaking of moving on: It’s about time to play some Brink.
Yeah, this game’s been a magnet for the wrong sort. Anyway, we get to play the game and have fun. At least we have that.

buy from decent supplier is the best bet. these days some hardware still isnt compatible (i.e. 2 devices conflict, not the wrong sockets etc) but nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

find a supplier that is fair and stick with them. ive had issues before with ‘know it all techies’ who dont know ****. how many proper techies work in a shop testing hardware? none

I remember the days where you had to make sure you had matching sticks of memory or else only one would work. :frowning:

Yeah, it’s a bit easier nowadays.

(nick1021) #48

You’re the idiot who deluded yourself to believe that pc gamers only like old games because brink was doing badly on the pc. When in fact brink failed and those old games on top are quite great, not because they are old.

(Crytiqal) #49

Lol, if anything, YOU are from the wrong planet

(zenstar) #50

@nick1021 & @Crytiqal:
Hostile much? Or do you just like bashing people who are being optemistic about the game.
All wolf was trying to do was point out that there have been a large number of ragequitters and haters, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun playing the game.
And the 2 of you have to chime in and cause trouble? Nice and mature guys.
Perhaps I can interest you 2 in some other classic arguments like “Nuh-uh” or maybe “I am rubber. You are glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you!” or perhaps you’d prefer “Yo momma!”

Seriously though. Chill out. Let the people who like the game like the game. We’re not trying to force you to like it. Don’t try force us to dislike it. And everyone be civil to everyone.

(nick1021) #51

He was being hostile on us if you haven’t noticed.

(zenstar) #52

I don’t think he was directing that at either of you. He’s posted once in this thread and (How I read his post) he was just commenting that there have been a lot of haters. I doubt he meant you.

zenstar,

I have already used the “I’m rubber, you are glue” joke reference, found here: Brilliant post of brilliance

I expect a royalties check, in the mail, forthwith

I shall be paying you exactly what it is worth.
In fact I’ll pay you double what it is worth (2 x 0 is still 0 right?)

yup, manually assigning IRQs to devices etc. what a ball ache. any old fool can install windows these days…

(zenstar) #56

Oh man… Network cards that conflicted with other devices (it always seemed to be the damn network card) and you’d spend half an hour trying all the IRQs available and then go to the sound card and change it’s IRQ (If you were lucky you didn’t need to move jumpers on the cards) and then going back to the network card and trying again.

Sometimes I think it used to be easier to use a null-modem cable to get a game of Doom going than it was to set up someone’s network card. “Plug and play” replaced “Plug and pray”.

(Wraith_shadow) #57

yeah, too many games are finding it acceptable to give us a release date and then push it back like it’s nothing. i was looking forward to be playing the new content until they made their announcement. For how little there was at launch and how many bugs there were, i hope they can keep content coming every two months or so.

Edit: Not to mention that their “free” dlc would be getting a delayed price tag.
