Hopefully my Computer will play this.

I heard this game was built to work on most computers but still look really goof on advanced ones. Hope this is true, I don’t want to waste 50 bucks.

That’s a very useful post… Min PC specs are out. Either you meet them or you don’t. The Min specs are for the game to run with a decent frame rate. If you exceed them it’ll only look better and better.

(hamstein) #3

you should post your specs and maybe we can help you out.

(Crytiqal) #17

Lol, to be fair, this guy Marcster made a cccombo post by replying to this thread 3 times in a row.

Maybe he couldn’t find the edit button?

or the search button for that matter (mucho threads about specs?)
I find it hilarious that after the min specs are revealed, everyone starts a thread about “can my rig handle this?”.

Like wth, they JUST posted the min specs!

Interpreting specifications is another responsibility of PC gamers that console users don’t have to worry about. Some people still want video games to just be insert coin and read the button panel. It’s an interactive form of entertainment though, not passive like a movie. If you’re not willing to know a few things how will you be fulfilled by the interaction as the creators intended? If you don’t know your vehicle’s GCWR and try to tow something you could damage your vehicle or get into an accident. The manufacturer had hoped your common sense would prevent you from assuming your vehicle has infinite cargo and towing abilities.

PC gaming is not technically or financially demanding, it just doesn’t hold up socially. Those who aren’t willing to deal with it will never know or understand what their missing or how to contrast each platform. Rather than admit or realize this, PC gaming is instead socially watered down as some complicated, elitist, specialized activity that’s too much effort for leisure.

More often than not, PCs will disappoint people because they’re not willing to go far enough to understand “why.” Why doesn’t this work? Why did it crash? Why won’t this run? Why can’t I add this? Why do I add this? On most computer forums the socializing ends up everyone getting to gaming at least. But most people get caught up on small details of psuedo-logic or psuedo-theories on why certain things are. A lot of it is meaningless crap that confuses less experienced people and makes others feel like they see into a black box and now know the big picture.

Most people who get into those topics aren’t in it for the knowledge but just want to flaunt or justify their big purchase to everyone. If someone counters them they get angry because again it’s human socializing rather than figuring out something. Meanwhile the newcomers focus so much on this tangent they build a terrible computer around a worthless discussion. PC gaming is an expensive hobby, but sports equipment is very expensive too. Computers are still widely not pictured that way. It’s not viewed as worthy of sports/automotive/photo/boating/camping level budgets. A social or culture part of computers makes them still an appliance to people. “A toaster is a toaster.” A majority of people still assume “buying a Windows machine” means anything “windows compatible” will run perfectly. They’re not aware of that they’re getting into an area of many tiers. They don’t understand that their new toaster won’t do bagels.

Video games are a hobby that have many levels of affordability. Just because a free flash game runs on your netbook doesn’t mean you’re entitled to run Bioshock and Brink on it. Most people still think they are though. Video games are socially toys still. If a child plays with it it should be inexpensive so any parent can get it for them. $50 software title (Brink) should run on $300 system. Another $50 software title (The Sims) runs, why wouldn’t software the same price run on the same system? I don’t know why computers are still mostly treated like it’s the 1960’s and they’re another appliance. Maybe because the media hasn’t accepted them as art mediums? The industry has a lot of money in it but very little repute involved. How many people can you name from the video game industry? The film industry? Someone please summarize my point to a few sentences.

(Crytiqal) #20
  1. People asking if they’re specs are sufficient just want to flaunt their purchase.

  2. People don’t understand PC gaming on a “professional rig” requires the same dedication and money as playing any sports on a high level.

  3. People think evenly priced games should run evenly well, eventhough the price has no relation to the requirements.

  4. People don’t accept the fact that PC gaming requires some knowledge when all they want to do is leisure.
