Title says it all. I’d like to see the “Reclaim” option as seen on Bushwhacker’s turret, Aura’s heal station, and similar implemented on ammo and health packs thrown down by the likes of Skyhammer or Sawbonez.
Hold "Use" to reclaim thrown Medpacks and ammo packs
For skyhammer meh, for saw big plus.
To many people not grabbing my health packs
Then begging you to drop one for them while your medpacks are still on cooldown. That was the impetus for this idea.
The devs already answered this one, they said - “It’s unlikely we will ever implement such a feature, because dropping health packs or ammo packs is not supposed to be like the deployables. You should drop them around your team-mates when they need them, which involves a little be of tactics, because if your team-mates don’t pick them up, the enemy might.” - Shoe, Splash Damage Community Manager.
So I would say it is unlikely they will change it, but who knows… Never say never!
I’m a bit on the fence about it personally.
How recent is that because I know on a dev stream a month ago or something they actually really liked the reclaim ability suggestion.

Yeah, I know that
Happens too often, there was that kid once.
I was trying to give him pack, but he completely ignored them
10 seconds later, screaming all over the voicechat “REVIVE ME!!!” from the other half of the map. Yeah.
@Ghosthree3 Maybe a couple of weeks. I’ll try and get some clarification on the answer, and let you know ASAP.

I actually never understood enemies being able to pick up ammo and health packs.
I though it was some kind of glitch and was never intended.
What purpose does it serve?
@BlackFro I believe it’s so that you place them more strategically, as opposed to just spamming them over the ground with no thought.

everybody is using the same guns. so why shouldn’t they be able to pick up the health/ammo?
so rick vs reward. you can give your team extra supplies but if you miss those supplies don’t get used or the enemy team picks them up.
I can’t see why you shouldn’t be able to reclaim medpacks/ammopacks when Fletcher can reclaim sticky bombs and Proxy can reclaim mines.
This is a great suggestion, mostly because i hate it when i throw all 4 sparks health packs at a low fragger and he runs away
I should probably clarify that I personally would also like to see this as a thing in game - preferably how Fletcher’s reclaim works though. For example: If you throw down a health pack, it should only return 50% of the cooldown, not 100%.
My two reasons for saying this is that returning 100% completely scraps the “risk” and tactics element of placing them close to your team-mates to that the enemy can’t nab them, and also because it gives you exp upon dropping them. We could easily run into the same situation we had with Fletcher (ie. some chobo sat in spawn dropping and picking up to farm exp).
On a side-note though, I still don’t understand why “using” your skills (such as throwing health packs, laying a mine, throwing a sticky or firing a grenade) gives you exp! It should reward you for exp when the desired result is triggered (someone picks up health pack, you kill someone with a mine/sticky, or you hit someone with a grenade), NOT when it’s simply used without reason. Just my 2-cents ^.^
Plus, trying and missing a direct hit still has a punishment. I agree with this.
I see both sides. But I’m so tired of my teammates dancing around my health or ammo packs and then being powerless ( well, with ammo packs you can shoot, reload, and pick them up so the enemy doesn’t get it but with health packs you just have to leave them).

Just to get you off the fence and into the dev’s side (actually, my side
), you should P A S S the ammo/medpack and not just drop them.
