Hochfir

Been playing some Proxy/Hochfir tonight. In my view all the other SMG feel garbage in comparison. Hochfir has great fire rate and the acc feels the same if not better than others, and it’s great for strafing at head height for easy HS. I get so many easy HS this way compared to the likes of crotzwhatever and blishlok.

Destroyed some poor Rhino player a few times today just be strafing in a circle at head height. Didn’t need to burst fire or worry much about rise, just dingdingdingdingdingdingding and down he goes.

Thoughts? Is it too good or are the others gimped now?

If I’m not entirely mistaken, Hochfir is weaker ( and faster ) but more accurate than for instance Crotzni. Unless it changed, Crotzni had somewhat higher DPS. But, of course, that assumes you actually hit. If you could land headshots 100% of the time, Crotzni would be the better choice. Hochfir is just more forgiving.

Hochfir is good on a highly mobile character, like Proxy due to high RoF and high accuracy. Try using Hochfir on Nader (or Phoenix when he comes back), and you will likely feel it underperforming relative to Nader’s default: Crotzni.

Hochfir just doesn’t have the stopping power to kill multiple dodging people, and up close its accuracy can be for naught. But if you can aim while wall-spamming and dodging like crazy, its still a veyr dangerous weapon.

I find Crotzni a little too inaccurate for my tastes, but that’s probably just because I need to get better, and better, and better. I’ve been using Hochfir on Nader now to mix it up. Still not sure which one I prefer, though.

Never bothered with crotzni when using Nader tbh. Straight to the Hochfir. Perhaps it just fits my style better.

At short and medium distance, the Hochfir’s got somewhat absurd damage. It fires extremely rapidly and has a narrow spread. Remember the Kross from Brink? That’s this gun here.

Overall, it’s far better than its peers, in my opinion. The Crotzni has recoil and the Blishlock jumps around a fair bit as well, making it useless at medium to long range for followup shots.

Give it some spread. Make it so you have to burst the weapon more conservatively, or at the very least decrease its minimum spread to make it more of a close range weapon.
