show me the way? i cant play on full servers without it
high fps config
Unfortunately, for unreal engine, changing graphics settings typically has very little performance game. The terrible performance is in the engine itself. I’ll write up a high performance cfg for the latest update for you though a little bit later when I have time. Do you want the best performance to graphics ratio, or are you looking for garbage graphics for max performance?
already did that, nothing. only a config made a year ago, that probably doesn’t work
@Scarhand - maximum performance cfg
This should work for current version. You can more more performance by setting OneFrameThreadLag to true, but you might have laggier mouse movement so I left it off.
File should be attached to this post. Download it, then go to:
Documents\My Games\UnrealEngine3\ShooterGame\Config
Rename ShooterEngine.ini to something like ShooterEngineBackup.ini
Extract the ShooterEngine_Performance.ini to that folder and rename it to ShooterEngine.ini
You might need to right click on the new ShooterEngine file and go to properties and make it a Read Only file, so that the settings stay.
Hope it helps.
I feel as if though u just went through settings and turned everything down / off.
Did you do that or did you go through the config file and turn everything down / off?
Thanks

There was more than the in-game settings turned down. I changed 20 more lines or so (not including the texturegroup changes) after the in-game settings were minimum.
@Inferno, in what way? Does it work with the latest update?
yours does work better, but it increased the size of the font.
what is the cvar for font sizes?
No idea, maybe because he misses the line: “AdditionalFontNames = SGBitmapFonts.BMMainFont10pt”

The reason for the font size difference is he used a different resolution. Mine uses the default (or at least my default).
The reason his gives better performance is he has the OneFrameThread lag set to true, which will give better FPS but can give you mouse input problems, and that is why I excluded it. It is basically the same otherwise, except he had more extreme texture changes, but the performance gain from that should be minimal and I didn’t want it to look like complete garbage.
this was it, thanks

i like it when it looks like garbage, thats how I play my FPS games, even old ones like Quake
I would like to know if everyone has been having extreme fps slow downs as of late, i haven’t played a lot recently (due to the Australian servers having constant issues) but i am seeing at least half as many frames as i was getting previously… even with my previous fps config which used to get me well over 80fps~ now i am stuck around 20-50 depending on the area
It is likely because there are more players playing per match since the recent beta key release
Nah, that definitely is not it. The Australian servers were pretty much always populated until Nexon decided to stuff us around and give us BS replies about what was wrong with them blaming everyone but themselves for the issues, I have at least got it back up to semi-reasonable FPS again going through the config from scratch again, but still nothing like i was getting previously in full pop servers.
performance is an issue when there are more players in the server. i have a constant 100 fps everywhere in the map when the server is below 6 players, once it hits 12 players I have an unplayable 20 - 30 fps. it makes no sense because for other games this isn’t so much an issue, the amount of players didn’t have an impact on your performance. when everything is turned down to minimal quality the game should run fine but it doesn’t so its not just your computer but the servers performance, network quality, and code quality
Americas Army uses the same engine, and with a full server of 16 - 24 players the performance of my computer is barely impacted. This game has a horrible impact of performance once the game is full. It’s to the point where I decided I won’t play the game until I upgrade AND performance is tweaked in the game
