Hiding Patches when other brushes are blown up (func_expl)

Hi All,

So far I’ve not had much luck with patches/cylinders being func_explosive and so was wondering how to script it so that certain cylinders disappear when the brush they are connected to is destroyed.

Any advice would be much appreciated :slight_smile:

erm, afaik you can make patches into func_explosives as well… im not 100% sure though…

try select every brush AND every patch and rightclicking inside on of the brushes in a 2d window and select func -> func_explosive

Problem:
You can plant dynamite as well at the cylinders.

Not sure but are script_movers working?
You can set the state of the movers in the death scriptblock of the func_explosive.

I’d not yet tried the cylinders as part of the explosive. I’d read somewhere that brushes or patches that were 1 unit thick caused an error in the game… sv brush model null or something. Ill have to compile it later tonight to test it and ill let you know. thanks

a good example of this is in fueldump, the tanks are cylinders. So it is possible, just add them to your func explosive. just be sure to use clip brushes as well to get better results with planting dyno on them.

well i dont know wether it’s a problem that you can plant at the cylinders… i dont know what he wants… maybe he isn’t even going for a dynamitable objective…

and even if so, the dynamite should be planted inside the TOI? so if the cylinders are way outside the TOI then planting there won’t effect it right?

i hate those kind of things… i once spent half an hour trying to figure out why my capturable goldcrates weren’t working when i finally noticed i was still in warmup and you cant steal goldcrates in warmup xD
