Hey Splash, enough with this sensitvity slider.

(watsyurdeal) #1

Just let us type it in, please

I’m trying to get it stay at 8.192 but it hates me. :frowning:

(BomBaKlaK) #2

open console and use : setsensitivity xx.xx
Done

(Ghosthree3) #3
open console and use : setsensitivity xx.xx
setsensitivity float bool

If boolean is true then it saves it to config, not sure if it does by default.

Also the in game slider goes by decimal not whole number, so you could do 8.2.

(Potato Potasto) #4

Why do you have to be so pedantic to get 8.192, just set it to 8.2 in the in-game settings.

(RuleofBooKz) #5

is there any way to get more sensitivity using ini or console than what the slider allows? im on max sens (twitch - not the streaming service - player) and its so slow

(watsyurdeal) #6

Get a different mouse???

If you’re using some stock mouse that came with your computer you might wanna get something else.

I’d recommend a Razer Deathadder

(Ghosthree3) #7

The range of the sensitivity value is pretty damn big to be honest. Also editing the ini directly for sens seems to have no effect. It saves, but it isn’t ever read in, you have to change it in-game. It’s weird.

(watsyurdeal) #8

That might explain why I have to keep putting it in the console every time I play. I notice it’s not quite right otherwise, feels…stiff compared to how it feels after I type in the value in the console.

(Ghosthree3) #9

I had it reset on me once when I was using like 6 trailing decimals. I just rounded it up and used the slider instead of the command and haven’t had an issue since.

(watsyurdeal) #10

Thing is it’d be 8.2 for me, and it’s being a bitch, I can get 8.1 and 8.3, but it won’t let me get in the middle.

It’s being a fickle, I’ll try to see if maybe I could use the keyboard, just pressing the arrow keys to change it up or down a notch.

(misspo) #11

Plz buy a real mouse

(RuleofBooKz) #12

i use a razer copperhead its at 1000Hz and 2000DPi so its not the mouse

the game just seems slow and max sens isnt sensitive enuf

(watsyurdeal) #13

Well…in that case why would you need more?

I mean, 2000 dpi, the slider goes up to what? 20 or 30 I think? Either way, you’re looking at 1-2 inches per 360…

That’s way too high, there’s no way you’ll get good playing with a sensitivity like that. You need something slower.

(RuleofBooKz) #14

What do u mean too high? and not “get good” lol I told u im a twitch gamer we like the highest sens possible - the opposite to slug gamers with low low sens

Just this evening i was topping my team, 1st or 2nd in every pub game (with guns not ghost boys swords), with the max sensitivity the in game slider gives. if i got more sens id be even more effective hence the question.

(watsyurdeal) #15

No, you wouldn’t get more effective with more sens. That’s not quite how it works.

All twitch aim is, is a reflex of your muscles. Hence, twitch, your muscle remember how much they need to move the mouse to get a certain shot off. Do a little test, shoot at a wall, do a 360 degree turn, and a 180 degree turn. If you land on the same spot each time, then leave it, if not, your twitch isn’t as good as you think it is.

How about another test? Find a light post, or a small part of a sign, move around and try to follow it. If you’re having a hard time keeping your mouse on center, then you have another problem, your tracking isn’t great.

Having a lower sens means you can build these things more easily with no trouble. Most players I’ve seen have anywhere from 8 or more inches per 360. You’re basically playing at 1 inch, how you expect to build consistency with that I’ll never know. But I remember those days playing like that, I wasn’t nearly as good at it as I am now.

Also, if you think I’m lying to you, check this out

Look at that, the majority of the best players in CS GO use 400-800 dpi. Way lower than yours, different game sure, but aim is universal, and applies to pretty much every shooter you will play.

That should say something, you should at least consider practicing with a lower sens rather than keep trying to go higher.

Watsyurdeal im an experienced player. i kno all this stuff. ive played in comps and admin’d servers. i was ranked in the top 10 in ET QW with the GDF AR in the world. Top 5 medics. (tho that isnt that impressive as that was ET QW stats for pub not pro and so it was a bit potato aim but just to give u an idea of my gameplay and experience)

i can jump and do a not just one 360 but a double 360 spin, while in the air, and hit the same spot when i land - in ET QW. That was because it had better sens. or maybe better movement or it was just “tighter” as a game. Maybe its this games anti lag stuff people go on about? im not sure but it seems sluggish.

so yeah i can use “more” sens

ive been playing FPS games b4 there were multiplayer FPS games. Remember the FPS game SCARAB?

a good mouse sens site http://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/

Aim is universal yeah, but CS is a very different game, and if you play mostly CS it makes sense to go really low because in CS you know where the enemy is coming from, the game is slower, there is much less vertical aiming. When you see an enemy, he is usually really close to your crosshair in CS, not so true in DB.

But a problem with that sheet is that you’re not showing what sens these players are using. DPI is not sens, those are completely different. I use 800 DPI and have lower sens than most CS pros with their 400 DPI.

However I do agree that lower sens is better in general. And the sensitivity slider in this game is crap! Why does it go by integers in the options menu, and by 1 decimal in the in-game menu? Please SD, just add a textbox after the slider that lets us write our desired sensitivity, in both menus! If the console doesn’t save it and you actually HAVE to use .ini tweaking, that’s pretty terrible.

Yea pretty much my gripe with it, Source games have it so I don’t understand why this game can’t have a simple text box where we type it out.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I like the number to be exactly the same in every game with as little discrepancy as possible. So 8.192 with 800 dpi is my golden ticket, and it’s pain to get just that.

(Eox) #19

I think it can be a nice quality of life addition. It’s not that hard to implement and it helps.

(misspo) #20

Hi, do you guys heared about an “universal pause button”? it’s interesting.
I would like to see a common sensitivity option for every game. Where 4 = 4 and not
4 in dirty bomb = 3.4 in cs. I would love to see that one day so people will just plug & play by just having their DPI set as usual.
@RuleofBooKz
“can jump and do a not just one 360 but a double 360 spin, while in the air, and hit the same spot” plz plz plz what the fucking point for doing shit like this? you a troller doing MLG 720 NOSCOP on call of duty? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2wyWPBRfxY

If 2000DPI and +8 ingame sensitivity is not enough, buy the new razer deathadder chroma 3500DPI. And don’t buy FK mouse because it’s limited at some thing like 800dpi max. I’m a nice guy and i can help you at choosing a new mouse.
