Brink’s movement is clunky. The ADS is a bit clunky as well. Parkour could’ve been implemented a bit better. The story, however interesting, was not implemented well either. Having said that, 7 friends and I just put 3 more hours into Brink together, and it was some of the most fun I have ever had online. Oddly enough, I can say that about any time I play Brink. This game is not just a breath of fresh air for me, it is an entire friggin tank of oxygen. Rasberry flavored oxygen. (yes, that’s a good thing)
It is dissapointing to know that Brink does not have a large community, but honestly, who needs one? I have been having no trouble getting into full games, and believe me, they are INTENSE to say the least. Stalemates are inevitable in a competetive matches, and using teamwork to fight your way out of one is so much more fun and rewarding than in any other game I can play. “Hey Cadco, I’ll throw you a syringe, and get out, Slight and YoYo can cover on either side of the bot. Legendary and I will try and flank” or “Guys we’re running out of time! Make a final push to the bot! It only has a couple of seconds left for repair and it is close to the crane! Let’s meet up at the middle exit and jump down at once. You guys clear the guys around it and I’ll start to repair right away.” … These are the kind of reports that you can expect to come regularly when participating in a well-played game of Brink.
There are other fun team-based, objective-based shooters out there, and I have played and enjoyed most of them. Regardless of that, Brink is the most fun I have had.
We are extremely excited for the clan support that Brink is going to get soon, and I am so grateful that Splash Damage supported and fixed this game even after all of the negativity at launch. My friends and I noticed how negative the people on this forum are, and I thought I would come and give my opinion.
