Hero: Shadow Stealth, Rave

Shadow Stealth, but his name is Rave.

So lets go over what its specials is and what is so special with them.

  • Sprints fast (10% faster than Aura)
  • Stealth
  • No primary weapon, only a secondary weapon. (Pistol?)

Role: Stealther

HP = 75

Primary ability: Stealth Mode, go invisible for a short period of time (10 seconds). If firing stealth mode will be deactivated and you will have to wait 35 seconds for it to recharge.
Secondary ability: Super Sprint Mode, short for SSM. Shadow Stealth gains 10% movement speed for 5 seconds & recharges for 15 seconds before it can be used again. If you would get a kill while using Super Sprint Mode the recharge time resets.

Stealth Mode: Go invisible for 10 seconds, if firing stealth mode will be deactivated and you wont be able to use it for 35 seconds.

Super Sprint Mode: Gives your hero 10% movement speed for 5 seconds and if you get a kill while using SSM the recharge timer resets. If you dont get any kills you will have to wait for 15 seconds.

Knife: Standard knife as every other hero

Secondary Weapon (Actually Primary weapon as he doesnt have a rifle as primary) : Grand Power K100, deals 20% more damage than any other pistol. 10 bullets in the magazine. 32 bullets as ammo.

Looks/Clothes: Looks like an assassin, dark jacket, dark hoodie, dark shorts with long pants under & dark shoes (Running shoes, not the every day situation shoes). He has a scar on his face. Half white, half brown skin, more of a tan from the beach. Looks like a scientist with his bald head and green eyes. Hard to explain how he looks like, but Nexon knows how to do it as they are professional at this stuff. - Something like this. http://imgur.com/vahyXf0 (Concept from Assassin’s Creed)

An assassin-type role in this game sounds like an interesting proposition, and I like what you’ve got here.

I wonder how it’d work out in the end as far as balance goes. I’m not sure I like the idea of unavoidable deaths, what kind of counter might there be?

Even imperfect stealth (like at close ranges you could see an outline or somesuch) would probably be enough. That way very alert and careful players have a chance at spotting him, so assassins have to be careful and quick to nail those free headshots.

Or perhaps being unable to fire in stealth, forcing you to cancel it before you can begin firing and giving your enemy that brief chance to see you and return fire.

Knife as melee for him would be bad. A small sword would be better.

There was a similar merc in Alpha by the name of Phantom. He ran around with a katana and a cloaking device.

Woops double post

Issue with him having 75 hp comes in the issue that, he’ll die to just about anything. I don’t even have to hit centermass once with a burst from a Stark to drop ‘Rave’ and if I get a head shot in there, I may not even need three shots.

Sacrificing a Primary – even for a cloaking device is going to be harsh. The Secondaries in this game have nothing like the Spy’s magnums in TF2.

This guy seems geared to simply getting kills – which is what none of the mercs in this game are built towards. I don’t see any Teamplay value in him, at all.

Lets see what Nexon does with Phantom.
