Here ET animations shown

(ikanatto) #1

Now at this time it couldt not interest you much but here is the available animations of default ET player models.

http://mak.s13.xrea.com/ET/defaultmdx.avi
Maybe this requires the Windows Media Player or such encoder.

These names and properties are found in /animations/human/base/body.aninc.
There are lots of unused animations in ET(etmain). You might use those for your mod?

Very cool. Thanks.

Now… if there was just some way to make those line up reliably with the hitboxes so people would quit crying…

A little remark (but I don’t want to start a political debate):
Seems that there is also a nazi salute animation.
I don’t like this at all.
May be I’m a bit to sensitive.
But this sign of unhumanity and contempt for human beings should not be shown in games.

(thegnat) #4

I think its a leftover from RtCW SP mode.

(No1_sonuk) #5

Indeed. RtCW SP was “historically accurate” in some ways, including swaztikas.

It may not be “P.C.” but denying history is a sure-fire way of having it repeat itself. Games have a wider audience than the History Channel.

(NightKiller) #6

If you dont mind, i have went ahead and added this file over onto RtCWFiles, http://returntocastlewolfenstein.filefront.com/file.info?ID=29882

I have read the document about that the player’s hitboxes do not match its apprearance. Hmm, it is sad for us that shooting one’s head and a bullet go through him.
This is my concerning to fix the hitbox problem:
Use the model’s bonunding box properties as the hitbox. Bounding box is an box which can just contain model in it. And head’s hitbox is attached to tag_head. This will avoid the mismatuch of the hitbox and appearance even though its model is not a human type.
I’m not a coder so not able to tell this could be performed by coding. just an idea.

I don’t remember seeing a nazi salute in RtCW, it’s probably a leftover from ET SP, just like (I assume) the tools & radio animations are.

(Rain) #9

While this would be ideal, the dedicated server won’t load any animation/model info, so there’s nothing to work with.

I don’t remember seeing a nazi salute in RtCW, it’s probably a leftover from ET SP, just like (I assume) the tools & radio animations are.

It might have been used in RtCW’s “cut scenes”. IIRC, the MDS models from RtCW have that sequence.

I suppose it’s also possible that it was included by the animator for thoroughness. i.e. it was possible it might be used, but it eventually wasn’t.

BTW, I will get busy in real life soon, maybe can not do more with modding or playing.
I have zipped all of custom skins I have made. Be careful, these are poor. Just a joke

And here is a zipped archve includes all of the htmls which were in my web site.

Now, farewell thee, good luck to your modding.

(*NOB* Perica) #12

You managed to edit ET models?!
Or were u using the RTCW ones?
Or are u just being funny guy?

(ikanatto) #13

Yah, I am a funny’n idiot pierrot. :blah:

The way how I made them is to convert mds to mdm. It is almost likely “hack”. I dont recommand others to do this because of its unstable result. :moo:

(*NOB* Perica) #14

Unstable results? U mean model animations acting weird?

(ikanatto) #15

There are a lot of points to pass thorough to export mds. These points are essential but hard to understand for beginners(also converting mds to mdm). And exporting mds plugin has weird bugs, which killed the other modders. We should wait for the new exporting tool with Activision permission, but they dont seem to release it soon, to make a plugin by ourselves could be good solution.

(*NOB* Perica) #16

I’m sure they won’t release it at all. I mean…look at the topic date…months have passed and still no word on it. They simply decided
not to release it (for whatever reasons)…that’s the only logical thing one could think of.

(*NOB* Perica) #17

BTW, are those models in the screenshots working properly in the game?

(ikanatto) #18

It depends on what “proper” means… They say some tiny error messages such as “shader *** not found”, but works “properly” in game as the player models. But you can see in the scrennshot, they are too bright. Yeah they are easy to be found from far distance. And if you hide behind the something like a crate, then your bunny ears will pop up from the head and your enemies can find you easily. For those reasons, they are not “proper” as the game models. So using these models personally will be “cheat”.

(Sauron|EFG) #19

I just watched a demo with these skin, and they are really cute.

Great work!
